Warzone players believe “free kill” Stun Grenades need a major nerf

Call of Duty: Warzone allows users to hurl Stun Grenades at their opponents to give them a temporary advantage, but players feel they need to be nerfed.

When people talk about meta equipment and loadouts for Warzone, players default to the game’s best guns and Perks. Season 5 has seen the likes of the Krig 6, FARA 83, and MAC-10 ruin opponents regularly, and beasts like the Combat Scout Perk drastically change combat.

Yet, smaller details are continually overlooked, such as thrown equipment. An OP Assault Rifle loadout is one thing, but if you get stunned before you get a chance to use it properly, then it can be game over straightaway.

This is why players feel they need to have their powers lessened as “The effect lasts way too long and the effects are way too brutal.”

The argument was put forward on the Call of Duty: Warzone subreddit by a user called JCglitchmaster, and they argued their case against Stun Grenades.

“When you are stunned in MW or WZ, you’re dead 99/100 times. It doesn’t matter if you are running the perk to counter it, it doesn’t matter if your enemy is miles away. The effect lasts way too long and the effects are way too brutal.”

The user places most of the blame on Infinity Ward, as the problem started with the release of 2019’s Modern Warfare.

But, they’ve now shifted a lot of the responsibility onto Raven’s shoulders saying: “you’ve had nearly 2 years to address this and you just haven’t. What blows my mind even more is this issue was also present in Blackout.”

In the grand scheme of things, we could easily see Raven not prioritizing an issue like this as, generally, most players will opt to run a Heartbeat Sensor in that slot.

Warzone is getting ready to integrate into Call of Duty: Vanguard, so it’s likely that we could see a complete overhaul of the game’s mechanics and systems anyway with the new map.
