Warzone players call for fan-favorite MW2 map to be added to Verdansk

Verdansk has always incorporated maps from previous Call of Duty games, and fans of Warzone think that one of the game’s skyscrapers should add a classic Modern Warfare 2 map to the top of one of them.

Since Warzone launched, both versions of Verdansk have featured memorable Call of Duty locations at one point or another. From Standoff to Vacant, to even Broadcast, legendary maps have had versions of themself in Warzone, and fans want, possibly, the franchise’s greatest ever map to be somewhere to drop into.

Highrise is one of the finest examples of a Call of Duty map and was a springboard for the 360, no-scope sniping culture that birthed many famous Call of Duty personalities and pros. Verdansk has many tall buildings dominating the skies, and players want the chance to revisit it in Call of Duty: Warzone.

In a Reddit post titled: “Warzone map team lost an opportunity to add this to one of the downtown skyscrapers,” the idea was proposed.

Unsurprisingly, the comments section was almost unanimous in its support for the idea, with one person saying: “100% agree. Map should be in multiplayer too for old times sake.”

Other replies also began to expand upon this initial idea by suggesting that Warzone could have a Modern Warfare 2-themed map that amalgamated all the game’s locations into one.

“They should do a Warzone map of just MW2 maps. Imagine going from Favela to Highrise to Wasteland in one game.”

The concept is fun, but one that might prove to be too impractical to implement into Warzone’s battle royale. The game will likely be more focused on incorporating content from upcoming entries in the franchise in the future.

With Raven Software concentrating on bridging the gap between Verdansk ’84 and modern-day Verdansk and the rumored Call of Duty: Vanguard title focusing on a WW2 Warzone map, it leaves little room for any MW2 maps.
