Warzone players call for major buff to forgotten equipment

With one simple but vital buff, Warzone players believe that a forgotten Tactical Grenade would diversify the options of viable equipment at their disposal.

While weapon buffs and nerfs arrive frequently with each Warzone update, it’s rare to see the battle royale’s equipment undergo significant changes. Over the years, Warzone equipment has been nerfed only when something is deemed overpowered like the Stim Super Slide of the past.

However, some players believe that buffs and nerfs to equipment could help diversify the stale meta that has developed. This is especially true when it comes to Tactical equipment with two choices (Heartbeat Sensor, Stim) receiving 70% of the category’s pick rate.

Variety and a diverse set of options are what devs strive for when nerfing and buffing weapons, which is why one player has detailed the one change that would allow Smoke Grenades to join the list of viable options.

As the title of this Reddit post suggests, the player claims that if Smoke Grenades hid hit markers, they would go from underused to useful in Warzone. This simple yet effective change would help balance the equipment’s current weaknesses of being susceptible to Combat Scout, not lasting long, and drawing unwanted attention.

The comments were full of players who agreed with this proposed change to Smoke Grenades in Warzone: “This is actually smart. There are quite a few things that are useless in game. They should be buffed to add variety to the game, especially in lethals/tacticals and perks.”

As the previous comment put it, this hypothetical buff would allow something useless to become viable in certain scenarios, without crossing over into broken territory. The options at players’ disposal would also increase, which is always great for the state of Warzone.
