Warzone players call for major Perk rework

With most Warzone players picking the same Perks and Equipment every game, fans believe that Raven needs to rework these key elements.

Fans of Activision’s successful Call of Duty battle royale game believe that the game is in need of change when it comes to its Perks as they have become too meta.

There has been so much focus and scrutiny over certain aspects of Warzone’s meta in the last year that other factors have gotten lost in the shuffle. From overpowered AUGs and M16s to an overabundance of cargo trucks, there’s always something that needs fixing.

Whereas, Warzone’s Perks have remained unchanged throughout the game’s duration. Directly ripped from 2019’s Modern Warfare, the Perks and Equipment used in Warzone are pretty much all the same. Given that Warzone has become a separate entity almost, CoD fans believe some changes need to be made.

On average, a typical Warzone loadout will feature either E.O.D or Double Time for Perk One, Ghost or Overkill, then Ghost picked up mid-game, and finally Amped as Perk Three.

Reddit user vol4lyfe123 has outlined these points and discussed them in a detailed post in which the game’s Perk meta could be adjusted accordingly.

“Perk 1 (Blue):

  • Quick Fix: In addition to health regeneration immediately after killing an enemy, this should speed up the plating animation so you plate up faster. This partnered with Amped would be OP though, so this should be moved to the yellow category.
  • Cold Blooded: Undetectable by AI targeting systems, thermals, and Heartbeats. Basically, Ghost shouldn’t counter heartbeats and UAVs. Splitting up Ghost into 2 categories can give some freedom and more of a choice between UAV counter or HB counter, also makes people choose between EOD or CB.
  • Scavenger: Always find ammo when killing players. Get max ammo from map-based ammo resupplies. This could be a very good perk when balanced with Cold Blooded. Gives some variety.

Perk 2 (Red):

  • Hardline: Removed.
  • Ghost: Remove Heartbeat Sensor detection to Cold Blooded.
  • High Alert: In addition to the vision pulses, counters Dead Silence. DS has been more and more prevalent since the Stopping Power spawn rate got nerfed. DS currently has no counter.
  • Pointman: Doubles the spawn rate of cash drops from crates and discount items from Buy Stations. (Removes hardline)

Perk 3 (Yellow):

  • Amped: Keep.
  • Shrapnel: Removed because you can pick up two anyway.
  • Battle Hardened: Normal effect but also removes coughing sound from gas and reduces damage taken from gas.
  • Spotter: Enemies using Cold-Blooded now show up on thermal sights and Heartbeats.
  • Tracker: Keep.”

The Cold-Blooded change would be a standout alteration as the tried and tested process of starting with Overkill and acquiring Ghost from another loadout is abused in every game.

As well as Warzone’s perks, another also added that they’d like to see the “Nerfing of things like Heartbeat (Sensors) would help a lot and I see a lot of people stopped using E.O.D since the C4 and the Semtex buff.”

It would be very interesting to see Raven Software take a second look at Warzone’s Perks and Equipments as it could be one way in which the game could feel fresher with more options.

Also, check out the Warzone feature that would make the stim & gas mask glitch exploits useless.

Warzone Season 5 last stand

Thanks to the Warzone Pacific Season 5 roadmap we got an in-depth look at what to expect from the final season. Warzone Season 5 will introduce major changes to Caldera, new items, weapons, and modes, as well as the return of classic CoD villains.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific are slowly approaching Season 5, which is confirmed to be the final season of content for both games. While fans are already looking forward to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, the Season 5 roadmap reveals that there’s still a ton of reason for excitement.

Warzone Season 5, titled Last Stand, will see several familiar faces take center stage as the battle royale focuses on the heroes and villains of past Call of Duty titles. Of course, there’s much more to enjoy with Caldera changes, a new Gulag, new weapons, and new items to discover.

Warzone Season 5 villains

Warzone Pacific Season 5 release date

Warzone Pacific Season 5 is set to begin on Wednesday, August 24 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM UK, immediately after Season 4 comes to a close.

The date has been confirmed by Raven Software, and assuming there are no delays, the season should begin on August 24. Stay tuned, as we’ll update this piece if the release date is changed.

Warzone Pacific Season 5 Caldera changes

Warzone Season 5 Peak changes Caldera

For starters, Caldera will undergo several changes when the Warzone Season 5 update arrives. A volcanic eruption will spread around the map and you’ll be able to witness the lava running down the sides of the Peak POI.

In addition, a new Gulag will be introduced in Season 5: “Fight for redeployment in the new volcanic-themed Gulag. Best your opponent in this new face-off pit inspired by an old favorite and get another shot at securing victory.”

New weather and lighting changes

According to the Season 5 roadmap, Caldera will also deliver some much-needed lighting changes. With the storm finally cleared, Caldera will trade its clouds of gray for warm sunshine.

Event the volcano’s smoke won’t be enough to fully block out the sunlight as it makes a widespread return. In addition, “Rebirth Island sees new lighting changes as well, featuring a warm and lush sunset casting a vibrant hue over the map.”

Warzone Season 5 new items

Four new items will be making their way to Warzone in Season 5 and they’ll all bring something new to the table for players to enjoy. Here’s the devs’ description of each of the new items and how to properly utilize them in Season 5:

Doomsday Station

Discover this seismic device found within Caldera’s primary Battle Royale game mode. Trigger the device and enemy helicopters arrive to surround the station, deploying enemy soldiers to attack your position. Remain close to the Doomsday Station and defend yourself for a chance at earning powerful items and a unique Watch cosmetic for your Operator.

Only one Doomsday Station will appear per match, with multiple possible spawn locations. Pay the required $10,000 to activate it and prepare for a thunderous fight.

Warzone Doomsday station

Supply Box UAV

Activate the new Supply Box UAV Killstreak for assistance in tracking down more items. It will mark nearby unopened Supply Boxes on the player’s Tac Map for around 15 seconds. Find the Supply Box UAV in Supply Boxes or purchase one at a Buy Station.

Personal Supply Box

Track down this extremely rare crate with the assistance of the Supply Box UAV to acquire your favorite Loadout weapons in Warzone. Each squad member gets a huge XP boost as well.

Rage Serum

This Field Upgrade allows you to become violently unstable, resulting in a viciously effective boost to your close-quarters fighting. Test subjects were shown to have superior melee damage, increased lunge distance, and enhanced stun power while fighting with melee weapons or fists.

However, defensive forces have confirmed that while affected by Rage Serum, an Operator becomes louder, and seems to recoil with more confusion while stunned or flashed.

Season 5 Warzone new weapons

Warzone Pacific Season 5 new weapons

Seeing as Vanguard and Warzone Season 5 are the games’ final content drop, it’s no surprise to see that a whopping five weapons will be up for grabs. Two of those weapons will be available via the Season 5 Battle Pass at the start of Season 5.

  • EX1 Energy Rifle (Launch)
  • RA 225 SMG (Launch)
  • Valois Revolver (Launch Window)
  • BP50 Assault Rifle (Midseason)
  • Lienna 57 Assault Rifle (Midseason)

It will be interesting to see how the EX1 Energy Rifle integrates into Warzone’s weapon pool considering how unique the weapon is with its energy rifle designation. Meanwhile, players will attempt to discover if yet another Vanguard SMG could rise to the top of the close-range meta following the RA 255’s release.

Warzone Pacific Season 5 new modes and events

Operation: Last Call (Launch)

Cool things off or cause mayhem! In this limited-time mode inspired by Search and Destroy, you can choose to defend Caldera by defusing bombs around the island, or sabotage it by detonating the explosives at designated bomb sites. Witness two different outcomes, depending on your performance and your intent to cause chaos!

Lava Rock

Look above and look out — Lava Rocks are crashing into Caldera, and no one is safe from their volcanic fumes. Stay out of the landing zone to survive in this public event within Operation: Last Call. Check the Volcano Meter for a visual representation of current activity, also indicated by the increasingly smoky atmosphere throughout the match.

New Seasonal Event: Heroes vs. Villains

It’s Heroes vs. Villains in this new Community Event. Choose your side and lead them to victory. Collect Villain or Hero Tokens in all game modes by eliminating opponents and scavenging Supply Boxes, then enjoy a discount for Faction Bundles at the Buy Station. Any time you purchase a Faction Bundle, you’ll get a discount on one other item across all Buy Stations.

The winning team’s unique Weapon Blueprint will be given to everyone following the event. Players also have the chance to earn other exclusive rewards like the Legendary animated “One vs. One” Calling Card, the Hero’s or Villain’s Weapon Charm, the “Conflict Spike” Melee Weapon Blueprint, the “Time Duality” Watch, and more.

Classic CoD villains coming to Warzone Pacific Season 5

Task Force Tyrants is making its way to Vanguard and Warzone Season 5. Players will be able to “deploy as four of Call of Duty’s most infamous antagonists” with the appropriately named Task Force Tyrants.

The villains set to return in Warzone Season 5 are:

  • Raul Menendez from Black Ops 2 (Launch)
  • Khaled Al Asad from CoD 4 and Modern Warfare 2019 (Launch)
  • Gabriel Rorke from Ghosts (In-season)
  • Seraph from Black Ops 3 and 4 (In-season)

And that’s everything we know about Warzone Pacific Season 5 so far! We’ll be sure to keep this piece updated as more about the next season gets revealed.

Warzone & Vanguard Season 5 bring classic MW2 and Advanced Warfare weapons

Warzone and Vanguard Season 5 bring classic weapons from both Advanced Warfare and the original Modern Warfare 2.

Published

Menendez and Al-Asad in Warzone Season 5

Warzone Pacific Season 5 is almost here, bringing back fan-favorite Call of Duty villains and teasing a fiery end for Caldera. That’s not all though, as both a Modern Warfare 2 and Advanced Warfare weapon arrive in both Vanguard and Warzone.

Warzone Pacific Season 5 will be a send-off to this generation of Call of Duty, with it being the final Vanguard season ahead of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s launch. With the storyline wrapping up, the developers are going all-out and throwing classic characters and weapons into the mix.

Al-Asad, Menendez, Rorke, and Seraph feature in the Season 5, which will also see Caldera’s volcano erupting. Eagle-eyed players also spotted some classic Call of Duty weapons that will be appearing in both Warzone and Vanguard Season 5, and they’ve now been confirmed.

EX1 – Advanced Warfare’s EM1

Menendez with EX1 Energy Rifle in Vanguard and Warzone Season 5

Players spotted that Menendez was carrying Advanced Warfare’s EM1, and has been confirmed to hit Vanguard and Warzone as the EX1.

This was a powerful weapon in Advanced Warfare, being unique in that it fired a continuous beam of energy and overheated instead of needing to be reloaded.

It will act the same in Warzone and Vanguard, where players can “Equip the Heat Muzzle for extra charge capacity, insert a new Battery, and transform the EX1’s capabilities with the Burst Barrel or Charge Sniper Barrel.”

The EX1 will be available at Season 5’s August 24 launch as part of the new Battle Pass.

BP50 – Modern Warfare 2’s F2000

Seraph can be seen with a weapon that looks exactly like the F2000 from the original Modern Warfare 2, and the weapon will be called the BP50 in Vanguard and Warzone. It has the same general shape and has the distinctive curved piece behind the rear sight.

The F2000 wasn’t the most popular weapon in Modern Warfare 2 thanks to its high recoil, but its damage made it somewhat of a skill cannon. Vanguard’s 10 attachments might bring the weapon under control and make it a powerful choice in Warzone.

The BP50 will arrive later in Vanguard and Warzone Season 5, likely in the mid-season Reloaded update.

On top of these classic weapons, the devs are also introducing the RA 225 SMG in the Battle Pass, the Valois Revolver soon after the season’s launch, and the Lienna 57 Assault Rifle later in Season 5.

You can also check out how to play in Modern Warfare 2’s Open Beta, which goes live during Season 5.

Warzone Season 5 cinematic shows classic villains return & Caldera volcano eruption

Warzone Pacific Season 5’s intro cinematic has dropped, revealing the returning villains and what appears to be Caldera’s volcano erupting.

Menendez in Black Ops 2

Warzone Pacific Season 5 is almost here, and the devs dropped the intro cinematic for the new season. The brand-new cutscene shows some classic Call of Duty villains teaming up and Caldera’s volcano erupting.

After over two years of Warzone, CoD’s battle royale is moving on to pastures new when Modern Warfare 2 drops later this year. Season 5 is set to arrive on Wednesday, August 24, and it appears Raven Software are going all out ahead of Warzone 2’s launch.

The devs dropped the season’s intro cinematic on August 18, and alongside showing off the new weapons (which look suspiciously like the F2000 and EM1), we’ve got a good look at the classic Call of Duty villains returning as well as what appears to be Caldera’s volcano erupting.

The Season 5 cinematic shows four classic Call of Duty villains sitting in a helicopter like they’re about to drop into a match of Warzone.

Anyone who’s stayed on top of the leaks should have a fair idea of who the new villains are, as they were leaked in the Season 4 Reloaded’s game files. The returning villains are Modern Warfare’s Al-Asad, Black Ops 2’s Menendez, Ghosts’ Rorke, and Black Ops 3 and 4’s Seraph.

Claiming they were all “robbed” of power, these villains are teaming up to take down the heroes who underestimated “how dangerous” they are. Their dastardly plan remains to be seen, but the cinematic shows them dropping something into a bubbling, active volcano on what appears to be Caldera. The action then cuts to this volcano erupting with Vanguard Operators looking on in horror.

It’s highly possible that the dormant volcano in the middle of Caldera will finally erupt in Season 5, which will be the last Vanguard and Warzone season ahead of Modern Warfare 2’s October 28 release.

Season 5 could spell the end of Caldera as we know it before the game moves on to Warzone 2 and its new map, which has a leaked release date of November 16.
