Warzone players call for separate “Casual” and “Ranked” game modes

After reports that skill-based matchmaking is stricter after Season 3 Reloaded, Warzone players are calling on devs to add a “Ranked” system.

Warzone Ranked mode

With Warzone players reporting that skill-based matchmaking has been ramped up following Season 3 Reloaded, they’re once again calling for separate “Casual” and “Ranked” modes.

Warzone has long reached the point in its lifecycle where everyone knows the meta weapons and strategies. As more and more Call of Duty players become battle royale savvy, the game gets more competitive and difficult.

With skill-based matchmaking (SBMM), designed to pair players of similar skill together, still being a contentious issue, players have become increasingly frustrated with the difficulty of their Warzone matches. To counter the problem, the community is getting behind the suggestion to add a “Casual” and “Ranked” mode to the game.

Warzone Woods and Price

Having a Ranked mode for Warzone isn’t an entirely new concept, but calls for its implementation have increased after the Season 3 Reloaded update.

Reddit user FrankBlazi called on Raven Software to implement the separate modes, saying that “Warzone truly needs to separate a “Casual” game mode with a “Ranked” game mode.”

“SBMM is truly getting out of hand since the last update,” FrankBlazi explained. “I’m not sure what exactly has changed with the algorithm but it’s gotten to the point where we aren’t enjoying the game anymore because the SBMM is consistently placing us in overmatched lobbies.”

They continued, suggesting that there should be separate Ranked and Casual modes, similar to how Rainbow Six Siege does it. The casual mode would be a “true mixed bag of players prioritized by ping and connection over skill” and Ranked would have players of a similar skill set.

Many players agreed with the idea but there were some criticisms, with players saying it wouldn’t make the lobbies any easier, and hackers may dominate Ranked.

Although Activision has banned over 500,000 Warzone cheaters, it still remains a constant thorn in both the players’ and developers’ sides, with a Raven dev saying they’re ruining the best work of his life. Some players are concerned that the high levels of the Ranked mode will be filled with cheaters, only amplifying the problem.

With us now over halfway through the Season, and Warzone Season 4 expected to drop mid-June, perhaps Raven Software have a Ranked system up their sleeve.

Best type 11 loadout warzone pacific

The Bren received a nerf in a recent Warzone update and players are now turning to the Type 11 as a potential long-range alternative. Here are all of the attachments and Perks you need to create the best Type 11 loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Warzone Pacific Season 1’s mid-season update is live, bringing a ton of meta-changing buffs and nerfs to balance Warzone weapons.

The Bren was the undisputed number one long-range weapon in Warzone Pacific as of late but a recent nerf may change that. Although the Bren is still a powerful option, players have been quick to explore other weapons including the Type 11.

Here are all of the attachments and Perks you’ll need to get the most out of this mighty LMG.

Best Warzone Type 11 loadout attachments

Type 11 Vanguard LMG
  • Muzzle: Mercury Silencer
  • Barrel: Sakura 487mm Shrouded
  • Optic: G16 2.5x
  • Stock: Warubachi Type 33
  • Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 5.6mm 45 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Grooved Grip
  • Perk: Brace
  • Perk: Fully Loaded

The Bren deals more damage than the Type 11, but the Type 11 has the Bren beat when it comes to ADS speed, movement speed, and strafe ability in 1 vs 1 gunfights.

Recoil control and aiming stability are vital for long-range weapons and the Warabuchi Type 33, Grooved Grip, and the Sakura 487mm Shrouded barrel make this weapon a laser beam. Distant targets will go down with ease thanks to the G16 2.5x optic.

The Brace proficiency will also increase accuracy and recoil control while Fully Loaded will set you up with enough ammo to tackle large squads. Rest assured, the 5.6mm 45 Round Mags will not leave you short on ammo and it is preferred over the 90 Round Mags due to the added recoil control.

The Mercury Silencer will further boost recoil control while Lengthened will increase bullet velocity which is a must for players who venture into Caldera. Finally, the m1941 Hand Stop is yet another attachment that will make this massive LMG easier to control in long-range battles.

Best Warzone Type 11 Perks & Equipment

Warzone perks
  • Perk 1: Cold-Blooded
  • Perk 2: Overkill
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal: Throwing Knife
  • Tactical: Stim

Before you switch to Ghost, you’ll want to opt for Overkill on your first loadout to pair this long-range killing machine with a close-range option. The PPSH and MP40 are two viable options in that category.

Cold-Blooded will keep you safe from the abundance of enemies who use Combat Scout, while Amped will have you switching between your heavy LMG and close-range SMG with ease.

The Throwing Knife and Stim equipment combination is currently the most popular set in Warzome thanks to the new Stim buff.

How to unlock Type 11 in Warzone Pacific

Shigenori Ota with Type 11 Vanguard

If you haven’t played Vanguard, unlocking the Type 11 in Warzone will require some considerable time unless you’re a frequent player. You will need to reach Level 37 before the LMG is accessible.

You may want to take advantage of the upcoming Double XP event across Warzone and Vanguard to unlock the required Type 11 attachments.

Best alternatives to Warzone Type 11

Of course, the Bren is an obvious choice for Warzone players even after a recent nerf but you might also want to explore the Automaton. After dominating Warzone Pacific’s early days, many players believe it’ll make a return following the mid-season update.

You can also turn to the MG42 if you’re looking to stay within the LMG category.

Pay-to-lose Warzone skin makes it impossible to aim

It appears a pay-to-lose Warzone skin is completely ruining players’ optics, making the crosshair so misaligned you can’t aim.

Shigenori Operator in Warzone

Warzone players are at wits’ end with invisible skins ruining the game, but another glitch has popped up where wearing a ‘pay-to-lose’ skin completely misaligns your crosshair, making it impossible to aim.

Warzone has been plagued by a series of bugs and glitches causing players to be invisible, everything in front of them to disappear, and dying even though they’ve won their Gulag.

Raven Software are working hard to get back on track, but there appears to be an issue with a Store Bundle that’s causing the skin to completely misalign players’ optics.

Warzone Shadow Outcast skin ruins players’ aim

Warzone curse of the ancients bundle

Reddit user Arbeast21 showed off the glitch, demonstrating that their crosshair was off center and the shots were going in a completely different direction to where the crosshair was placed.

This would make it virtually impossible to win a firefight at long range, as you’d need to aim in a completely different place to where your shots are actually going.

When asked if it was due to the weapon or optic, they explained that it happened no matter what they were using.

However, a couple of other users pointed out that the skin they were wearing caused the issue, with one player explaining, “Change your operator skin. Mine was doing the same and that’s how I fixed it.”

Arbeast21 confirmed it occurred after they equipped the Shadow Outcast Shigenori skin from the Curse of the Ancients bundle, but hasn’t reported if this fixed the issue at the time of writing.

It appears that this glitch has been silently causing issues for some time, with a player showing off the Shadow Outcast skin ruining their aim on December 23. The optic looks the exact way it does for Arbeast21, so it’s highly likely that this is the same issue.

The Curse of the Ancients bundle costs 2400 CoD points, so players who have bought it will be desperate for it to be fixed.

Call of Duty’s developers recently confirmed they’re looking at the major issues affecting Warzone, Vanguard, and Modern Warfare, so hopefully, this pay-to-lose Shigenori Outcast skin will be fixed alongside the invisible skins plaguing the game.

Best Sten loadout for Warzone Pacific Season 1

Here are all of the attachments and Perks you need to build the best Sten loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

best Sten Warzone loadout

The race to find the new best SMG in Warzone is finally underway. The Sten hasn’t been the most popular pick but it definitely deserves consideration when equipped with the correct attachments that produce the best Sten loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Warzone Pacific Season 1’s mid-season update went live on January 13, bringing several weapon balancing changes, as well as the brand new Welgun SMG.

Excellent short-range options for Warzone Pacific are few and far between which makes the search for the MP-40’s successor quite challenging. The Sten is starting to gain some traction as an underrated pick due to its excellent fire rate. You’ll need the best Sten loadout to get the most out of the weapon and we’ve got you covered.

Best Warzone Sten loadout attachments

Sten loadout attachments
  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: SA 65mm Rapid
  • Optic: SA 32S
  • Stock: Hockenson S33S Padded
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 9mm 50 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Incendiary
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
  • Kit: Quick

Upon first use, the Sten may seem difficult to control but once you get the hang of its recoil pattern, you’ll enjoy the benefits of its excellent fire rate. For starters, we’ll max out the fire rate by adding the SA 65mm Rapid barrel.

This weapon is definitely going to need some attachments that contribute to recoil control and accuracy. The Carver Foregrip, Polymer Grip, and Hockenson S33S Padded stock will make this weapon much easier to control.

Incendiary ammo and the Recoil Booster muzzle will make this a deadly weapon in close quarters as it’ll shred through enemies. We can’t forget about ADS speed when it comes to SMGs and the SA 32S optic offers a nice boost in that regard.

The 9mm 50 Round Drums may seem excessive but they’re highly useful in Warzone when aiming to take down multiple enemies. The Sleight of Hand proficiency will make reloading the large magazine faster while Quick will improve your sprint speed.

Best Warzone Sten Perks & Equipment

Warzone perks
  • Perk 1: Cold Blooded
  • Perk 2: Overkill (Ghost second loadout)
  • Perk 3: Combat Scout
  • Lethal: Throwing Knife
  • Tactical: Stim

With Combat Scout running rampant across Caldera’s thick foliage, Cold Blooded will prevent enemies from using the third perk to track your movement. Of course, you’ll want to equip Combat Scout yourself and hope your enemies don’t use the same Cold Blooded strategy.

Before you switch to Ghost you’ll want to run Overkill as the Sten needs to be paired with a long-range weapon. Despite receiving a nerf, the Bren remains the top long-range option.

A Throwing Knife will help you quickly confirm kills on downed enemies that you’ve rushed with your Sten. Due to the Stim’s new “Super Slide” mechanic, it has become the top choice in terms of Tactical equipment.

How to unlock the Sten in Warzone Pacific

How to unlock Sten

Luckily unlocking the Sten in Warzone and Vanguard is a supremely easy task that doesn’t require a significant amount of time. Players will need to hit Level 10 to unlock the Sten SMG.

If you’ve played any form of Vanguard or Warzone Pacific in the past few weeks, chances are the Sten is already accessible. Leveling up the weapon is a different story and may take some time. Luckily, players can take advantage of the upcoming Double XP event.

Best alternatives to Warzone Sten

The PPSH has been rising up the SMG ranks as of late due to a groundbreaking hip fire class that absolutely destroys close-range enemies in Caldera and Rebirth Island. The PPSH is the frontrunner to take over the new SMG meta in Warzone.

Alternatively, the Cooper Carbine remains one of the most versatile weapons in the game for those who are looking for a do-it-all weapon.
