Warzone players are reporting increased appearances of cheaters in matches, and many fans have become convinced that the RICOCHET anti-cheat system is no longer working.

Although the RICOCHET anti-cheat has weeded out a significant number of cheaters, it’s still possible to encounter hackers in Warzone. This can lead to issues like hacked flying cars that ruin matches.

Despite Activision banning at least 850,000 accounts, the reports of cheaters have increased in Warzone Pacific Season 1. This has led to many players believing that the anti-cheat system isn’t working.

Reddit user ‘Tylus0’ highlighted this issue in the CoD: Warzone subreddit, claiming that the game is “absolutely infested” with cheaters and that the situation is “worse than the last days of Verdansk.”

After reportedly encountering cheaters in every match, the player asked if the RICOCHET anti-cheat system is inactive in the now-deleted post. One of the commenters shared their own recent experience with hackers:

“Twice today while playing solos on Caldera, the lobby was down to around 50 people before first circle collapse. I was getting beamed from what appeared to be the heavens.” A few other users also reported being shot through buildings.

One user attributed this resurgence of hackers to a free trial weekend from a particular cheat provider: “Probably a free cheat weekend or something. Takes RICOCHET a little while to ban them.”

RICOCHET’s initial rollout was successful, with the new system nerfing cheaters’ damage and bringing kernel-level drivers to detect any nefarious applications that are running in the background.

Despite this, cheaters continue to get past the system and ruin matches, causing popular streamer Dr Disrespect to slam RICOCHET. Hopefully, the developers will respond to this surge in the lead-up to Warzone Season 2.
