Warzone players disappointed by Modern Warfare FAL nerf in Season 5 Reloaded
Warzone players aren’t happy with the developer’s choice to nerf the Modern Warfare Fal in the Season 5 Reloaded update, causing disappointment among the community.
Warzone Season 5 Reloaded introduced a variety of buffs and nerfs that ultimately shifted the weapon meta once again, keeping things fresh for players as we edge closer to Vanguard’s integration.
Although many might have been happy with the changes in the patch notes, such as the Krig 6 nerf, which was a weapon that was dominating for some time now, some are unhappy with changes to the Modern Warfare Fal.
Reddit user SindraGan2001 posted their frustration and disappointment with the developers choice to nerf the Fal with a post entitled:
“They actually nerfed the FAL… again! They say that their data says the FAL is a monster. Well, no shit when only hackers/cheaters use it! The whole point of the gun is to be strong if you hit headshots, which is not easy at all…”
The Fal’s upper torso multiplayer was nerfed in the patch notes from 1.1 to 1, which may not seem that big of a change, but players will now need an additional headshot to achieve the weapons best TTK which is actually quite a significant nerf.
The developer’s explanation for the change was detailed in the patch notes, which can be found below:
“To the dismay or surprise of some, our data suggests that the Assault Rifle Bravo (MW) is an absolute monster. The Assault Rifle Bravo (MW) will still be capable of achieving an extremely low Time to Kill, though that speed will now be locked behind an additional Headshot. Changes like these align more closely with our goal to shift consistently acquirable TTKs out of the 300ms range.“
The Reddit user claims that the only reason the developer’s data is suggesting the weapon is “an absolute monster” is because “only hackers/cheaters use it.” Although the developers claim that the change will still allow the Fal to achieve a low TTK, players in the comments of the Reddit post seem to feel otherwise:
“Wtf. I use the FAL a lot, and after the last nerf it already kind of felt like a hit marker machine, now they’ve just made it unusable for most players, besides the hackers who can get headshots only.”
We’ll see just how far this nerf affects the weapons usage as the season progresses, and perhaps the developers will make further changes if disappointment continues.
