Warzone players discover major issue with “broken” XP rewards
Call of Duty: Warzone players have discovered they’re earning significantly less XP than they’re meant to in Season 4 and are calling on devs for a fix.
Cold War and Warzone’s joint progression system brought 1000 levels for players to grind through, earning Prestige Keys, Blueprints, calling cards, and more on the way. On top of that, there’s also the seasonal Battle Pass, where you need to earn XP to progress through it.
Warzone players have been struggling to reach max level, discovering that they’re earning much less XP than they’re supposed to. Frustrated, they’re calling on devs Raven Software to provide a fix as soon as possible.
One Cold War player recently reached 10th Prestige without getting a single kill, but Warzone players have reported that since Season 4 Reloaded, they’ve been stuck in the low ranks thanks to an XP glitch.
Reddit user MadAshx wrote an in-depth post explaining Warzone’s XP issue. As an example, they said that while the post-match screen will display that you earned 23,000 XP, an inspection of the “Match Summary” tab will show that you only earned around 10-20% of that.
MadAshx explained that this makes it almost impossible to reach level 1,000 in Season 4, as we’re quickly approaching Season 5. And to top it off, they’ve said that this also affects Double XP Events and Tokens.
MadAshx initially believed this problem was only in Plunder, but several players chimed in to confirm that it also affects regular Verdansk and Rebirth modes. User csmartin85 said that they “Just played a solo with 5 kills and got a total of 182 XP.” However, there are reports that the Battle Pass still progresses as normal.
Players have been getting in touch with Activision to try and get the issue fixed. One player said that after they submitted a support ticket, they were told that the issue was being handled by a “specialized team.”
Neither Activision nor Raven Software has commented on the issue, but we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
