Warzone Pacific Season 4 Reloaded brought several welcome additions to CoD’s battle royale, but players are reporting that audio quality has been severely worsened by the update.

Audio has always been a major complaint among the Warzone community, with streamer Dr Disrespect being especially vocal about the issues. With the Gulag footstep audio fixed at the start of Season 4, these complaints died down since the start of the season.

However, audio issues appear to have returned in Season 4 Reloaded, with players reporting “game-breaking” audio issues, where they can’t hear players or even vehicles around them.

The discussion was kicked off in the Warzone subreddit when one user asked “Has audio sunk to a game breaking quality level? Or is my headset/controller broken?”

Explaining that they “can’t hear sh*t,” they described how they’ve had players run around them and climb up ladders with no audio, and the killcams seemed to confirm that they didn’t have Dead Silence equipped.

“The audio is distinctly worse with this latest patch/update,” replied Jibeddy, likely referring to Season 4 Reloaded or the following July 28 patch. Wildesane explained that they “felt that it was starting to get better with the S4 drop, but I think this last patch screwed something up.”

“I’m on PS5 and I can’t hear sh*t most of the time,” said another user. “Audio is always perfect in the kill cam though.” Ellite25 replied that the issue affects vehicles as well, where they “got squished by a helicopter that literally made no sound as it approached me.”

User GameWizzard believes they’ve found the specific problem, where “something is going on with audio cues behind the player, you just don’t hear anything behind you.”

With the issue reportedly widespread, Raven Software should be aware of the issue soon. There’s no guarantee how soon it’ll be fixed though, with the devs also aware of the Reloaded update’s lighting issues.
