Warzone players furious as Krampus Christmas event extended

Warzone players are slamming devs Raven Software for keeping Krampus around even longer by extending the Festive Fervor event.

Krampus in Warzone Pacific

Call of Duty’s Festive Fervor Holiday Event brought the controversial Krampus monster to both Warzone Pacific and Vanguard multiplayer. Players were desperate to see Krampus leave on January 4 but are furious to see that the event has been extended.

While Festive Fervor brought extra challenges for Warzone and Vanguard players to complete over the holidays, Krampus has soured the experience for many. While Krampus is supposed to hunt down players who are carrying coal, it appears his target is completely random.

With his extremely high HP, it takes a ton of bullets to take Krampus down – often leading to a frustrating death. Players were anxiously waiting for January 4 to see the back of him but are furious to see it has been extended.

New Festive Fervor end date

The Festive Fervor event was initially set to end on January 4, but now that Call of Duty’s developers have now returned from their holiday break, they’ve updated their Trello board to say that it will now end 24 hours later on January 5 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT.

The surprise change was met with shock and disappointment from players, with one fan saying “You’ve got to be f**king joking.”

“I want to play the new map without Krampus. The entire community does,” responded CoD content creator XSET Loochy. “Krampus has left the BIGGEST sour taste in my mouth about Caldera.”

Another Warzone streamer Rake said, “cmon Raven Software there’s no way you guys saw everything people have been p*ssed about and thought another day was a good idea.”

But if you go to the Festive Fervor tab in Warzone, the event is still set to end on January 4. This has players hoping that the Trello board update is a mistake, but this is unlikely as they’ve announced Day 20 will run from January 4-5, where players start the match Fully Loaded.

We expect there to be some major updates to Warzone in the coming days including fixes for the invisible skin, Shotgun nerfs, and an end to the pay-to-win glitch allowing players to redeploy with their loadouts.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 5 brings a brand-new revolver that doubles up as a knife, so here’s how to unlock the Valois Revolver.

Season 5 arrives on August 24, wrapping up the Vanguard and Warzone storyline ahead of Modern Warfare 2’s launch. Classic villains have returned, setting off Caldera’s volcano which teases a fiery end for the Pacific Warzone map.

Alongside the classic weapons from both the original Modern Warfare 2 and Advanced Warfare, players can unlock the new Valois Revolver. This “combination knife and revolver that acts as both a lethal melee weapon and a pistol,” will be a powerful choice alongside Warzone’s new Rage Serum Field Upgrade, so here’s how to unlock it.

How to unlock the Valois Revolver in Warzone & Vanguard

Warzone and Vanguard’s Valois Revolver arrives shortly after Season 5’s launch and can be unlocked through either a challenge or by purchasing the Store Bundle.

Here’s how to unlock the Valois Revolver in both multiplayer and Zombies:

  • In Multiplayer, get 15 Melee Kills
  • In Zombies, get 1,000 Eliminations using Pistols that have been Pack-a-Punched

Sledgehammer recommends that players take a Melee weapon into Season 5’s new Beheaded map, as it’s “a great map for closing the gap to your opponent.”

Similarly, they suggest jumping into the new The Archon Zombies map, as you can “hit that Pack-a-Punch early.”

The devs describe the Valois as “a villain’s dream,” as it’s capable of Meleeing opponents in only one hit “while also holding six rounds in the chamber for extra versatility.” They admit the “damage isn’t remarkable” though, “but it’ll do the job against a fleeing or damaged opponent.”

Warzone devs confirm Umbrella Academy crossover with Season 5 roadmap

The Warzone Pacific Season 5 roadmap image has confirmed the arrival of an Umbrella Academy crossover in the game.

Cha Cha and Hazel from Umbrella Academy

There have been rumors of an Umbrella Academy crossover in Warzone Pacific, and now the developers have finally confirmed this in the Season 5 roadmap.

The Warzone Pacific developers have brought a fair share of crossovers to the game, with King Kong and Godzilla arriving in Season 3 and the Terminator being added during Season 4 Reloaded.

Warzone Pacific Season 5 is almost here, and the new seasonal update is set to bring a ton of content for players to check out, including a new crossover with the popular superhero series, Umbrella Academy.

This crossover was first leaked when data miners found code in the Season 4 Reloaded game files, suggesting that the devs were planning to bring Umbrella Academy cosmetics to the game.

Now, this has been confirmed to be the case as an image in the Warzone Pacific Season 5 roadmap showed skins for the characters, Hazel and Cha Cha. These two are hitmen working for the Temps Commission in the popular Netflix series.

These in-game skins are based on the comic book versions of the characters, as their blue and pink bunny masks resemble those in the source material. The official blog post confirms that the Hazel and Cha Cha bundles will be available in both Warzone and Vanguard.

At the time of writing, the developers haven’t revealed any more information about this crossover. However, if the rumors are to be believed, then you might be able to unlock extra rewards by purchasing the bundles.

According to leaks, players who get both bundles before September 30 will be rewarded with an exclusive Legendary KG M40 Blueprint, a Legendary Weapon Charm, and a Legendary Calling Card.

However, those are just leaks, so take them with a grain of salt until the developers release more information about this crossover. With Season 5 just around the corner, we’ll know for sure what other surprises are included soon.

Warzone Season 5 Rage Serum Field Upgrade explained

Warzone Season 5 will introduce a brand-new Field Upgrade to players known as Rage Serum, which has some pretty astounding effects.

The fifth and final season of Warzone will introduce a variety of content, one of which is a brand-new Field Upgrade called Rage Serum.

Activision officially announced the details concerning the final season of Warzone and Vanguard titled Last Stand. The Warzone Season 5 update is looking to pass the torch to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 with a bang.

As well as dramatic map changes in which Peak has erupted, the devs have also decided to introduce some new weapons, Operators, and a Field Upgrade to spice things up.

This new Field Upgrade is called Rage Serum, and it has the potential to become a fan favorite, and possibly impact the meta.

According to the Season 5 Call of Duty blog, Warzone’s Rage Serum Field Upgrade will allow Operators to “become violently unstable, resulting in a viciously effective boost to your close-quarters fighting.”

Players will gain “superior melee damage, increased lunge distance, and enhanced stun power while fighting with melee weapons or fists.”

However, there are negatives to this Field Upgrade, as it will make your Operator noisier and give players extra recoil while stunned.

For those familiar with the Black Ops 2 campaign, this Rage Serum sounds very familiar to the “Time and Fate” mission, which saw players take control of Menendez as he goes on a rage-induced rampage after his sister dies.

For those unaware, Menendez will be an Operator in Warzone Season 5, so this would make sense to see in-game. We’ll have to wait and see, but it sounds like Rage Serum will allow players to go on a similar rampage to Menendez’s.
