Warzone players insist devs need to revert Sniper changes in Season 4

Warzone Season 3’s major Sniper overhaul is leaving players frustrated as demands to revert the changes in an upcoming Season 4 update increase.

The Warzone Season 3 update delivered nerfs to several Snipers in the game that essentially removed their ability to one-shot kill players from long-range positions. In Season 4, only a few weapons like the HDR, ZRG, and AX-50 can still one-shot kill players with a headshot from any distance.

Although players seem to be enjoying the new Fortune’s Keep map, some are frustrated with the performance of the previously nerfed Sniper Rifles.

A post to the Warzone subreddit titled “There is no fun in sniping anymore” showcases how punishing it could be to use a Sniper in Warzone Season 4.

The player in the video hits two great shots with the Vanguard Kar98k but is left with nothing to show for it since headshots with the weapon do not consistently kill enemies following the Season 3 update.

One player cannot understand why the challenging feat of landing a headshot doesn’t result in a kill: “I truly believe they need to revert the headshot multiplier for marksman rifles. Change the bullet velocity and decrease body/limb damage, but landing headshots is hard enough from a distance, why do I need 2 now?”

The player is frustrated that the devs decided to adjust certain Snipers by limiting their potential to kill with a shot to the head. Instead, they believe that different adjustments could have been implemented to balance Snipers.

For many, Sniping was the most entertaining aspect of Warzone, but it seems that the Season 3 changes axed the fun out of the playstyle. One player explains how, “It sucks they made it so much less viable, definitely made the game less fun for me.”

According to players, the devs’ attempts to balance Sniper Rifles were too one-sided, leaving certain Snipers in an unusable state. Limiting the number of viable weapons was never going to satisfy players, but others point out that you simply need to use Warzone Snipers that were not affected by the changes, “Use the 3 line. Problem solved.”
