A teased nerf for the CR-56 AMAX Assault Rifle has not sit well with some Warzone pros, as the popular weapon has been a go-to in Season 3.

The most recent Warzone patch notes from Raven Software teased an upcoming nerf to the CR-56 AMAX Assault rifle, and top-tier players in the community were not happy to hear that the powerful weapon could soon be less effective.

Weapon balance has always been a major discussion point in the Warzone community, as there have been multiple weapons that have been much better than their counterparts and were the staple in loadouts such as the AUG, FFAR, Grau, Bruen, and more.

The CR-56 AMAX has always been an effective Assault Rifle no matter the meta in Warzone and has not seen any significant changes to its performance since it was added to the Call of Duty battle royale. However, a recent update from developer Raven Software has teased upcoming changes to the CR-56 AMAX, which has not sit well with some players.

In the patch notes for the April 28, 2021 update for Warzone, Raven Software gave the community a sneak peek that there will be upcoming balance changes to the CR-56 AMAX, Fara 83, and Bullfrog.

The reveal that upcoming changes would be coming to these weapons, especially the CR-56 AMAX, shocked plenty of players, as the high recoil of the CR-56 AMAX made it a higher-skilled weapon in most players’ eyes and not worthy of a nerf in any regard.

NRG JoeWo is known for his prowess with this Modern Warfare Assault Rifle, as he has gathered plenty of highlight clips of it over the game’s life, and he had a simple message for Raven Software regarding the teased nerf.

Jukeyz of the London Royal Ravens stated that he doesn’t understand how they can nerf the Assault Rifle when some players can not even control its recoil.

Considering most nerfs are applied to weapons that are overpowered and give lower-skilled players a greater boost than every other weapon in the game, it does seem fairly unusual that Raven would want to nerf the AMAX.

Jukeyz states that he believes the CR-56 AMAX is the most balanced weapon Warzone has ever had.

It remains to be seen what exactly this teased nerf from Raven Software will be for the popular Modern Warfare Assault Rifle, but there is no doubt that the community will have strong opinions regarding what the changes turn out to be.

Does Warzone have split-screen? Latest information

Split-screen is classic video game feature that has been slowly disappearing in recent years, but does Call of Duty: Warzone have it?

Published

Two Warzone characters and logo

A key part of the success of Call of Duty: Warzone is the ability to squad up and play online with friends. But if your desired teammate is in the same room as you, can you play split-screen in Warzone?

There’s no denying that while there’s plenty of reasons to drop into a game of Warzone, it’s the ability to play with friends that keep many fans coming back.

Tackling the latest season, or the new Iron Trials mode, with a squad of friends on the mic makes the experience much smoother.

But what if the person you want to play with is in the same house, on the same console? Let’s take a look at everything we know about Warzone split-screen.

Does Warzone have split-screen?

Many games have offered split-screen options in the past to let friends share the same TV or monitor but control separate characters. Split-screen isn’t always a priority for developers, as wider access to online services has made it far less of a must-have

The feature is mainly used in games that promote co-op campaigns, like Halo or Borderlands 3. Call of Duty’s traditional multiplayer mode did adopt the feature as far back as Call of Duty 2 and continues to support it in Black Ops Cold War. Disappearing

Unfortunately, Warzone doesn’t have the option of split-screen play. The only solution for players at the moment is to set up a separate console and screen with an online connection – which may not be practical for some.

Two Warzone characters aiming at enemies

No specific reasons have been given by Raven as to why Warzone doesn’t have split-screen, although it could be related to the sheer size and scale of each game.

However, fellow battle royale Fortnite did add the feature later on after fans consistently called for it, so there is always a chance Warzone split-screen come in a future update.

For now, players will have to ask their friends to bring their consoles with them to have any hope of recreating a similar experience that Warzone split-screen would provide.

Best OTs 9 loadout for CoD: Warzone Season 5

The OTs 9 SMG is a powerful weapon in Warzone’s, so here are the attachments and Perks to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout in Season 5.

The OTs 9 SMG is another meta pick in Warzone’s huge arsenal of weaponry, so here are the best attachments and Perks to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout and maximize its potential in Season 5.

Warzone’s Season 5 Reloaded update brought various weapon balance changes. Although the brand new weapons did take a dominant stance this season, the OTs 9 from Season 4 remains a great choice to consider.

The OTs 9 boasts a highly competitive time to kill, so you can use it to dominate your opponents in close-range combat. However, its small magazine size holds it back somewhat.

Luckily, we can fix that with the attachments and Perks to run to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout.

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap
  • Ammunition: Spetsnaz 40 Rnd

The best Warzone OTs 9 loadout is built to dominate at close range but will be better suited for Warzone Solos and Duo matches because of its small magazine size.

To start the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout, we’ve opted for the GRU Suppressor. This is the standard for most SMG builds because of its massive increase in bullet velocity, range, and recoil control while keeping you off the minimap when firing.

Next, the 8.1″ Task Force barrel further increases this range while boosting strafe speed. Its only downside is that it will make the OTs kick more, but it’s perfect for a close-range build.

You’ll need to bring the weapon’s vertical and horizontal recoil under control, so it’s worth equipping the Spetsnaz Grip underbarrel. However, this will cost you in terms of both regular and ADS firing move speeds.

We’ll compensate for that with the Serpent Wrap rear grip. This will provide the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout with some extra ADS time at the cost of a slight reduction in your sprint to fire time. Lastly, to get the largest magazine size possible, you should use the Spetsnaz 40 Rnd mag.

Best Perks to use with OTs 9 class

Warzone E.O.D, overkill, and amped perks
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill then Ghost
  • Perk 3: Combat Scout

For Perks, the meta has been given a reshuffle thanks to Season 5, and it has seen some new Perks shift this slightly. The classic perks are still powerful, especially for the OTs 9, hence our choice.

To start, you want to use E.O.D to survive any explosive damage, which is necessary when using an SMG up-close. Then, you want to use Overkill to pair the OTs 9 with a FARA 83 or Swiss K31. Afterward, you want to take Ghost from your next loadout to hide from Heartbeat Sensors and UAVs.

We would be foolish not to pick Amped for our final Perk, as this perk allows you to switch weapons much faster and makes sure you do not get caught switching weapons when an enemy begins to fire at you.

Most recent OTs 9 buffs and nerfs in Warzone

Raven Software realizes that the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout is a popular wrecking machine in Warzone Season 5 and has recently taken action to rein it back slightly.

The September 15 update increased the weapon’s recoil while reducing the headshot, neck multipliers, and damage range.

Here are all the recent changes to the OTs 9

  • Recoil increased slightly.
  • Maximum damage decreased 34 ⇒ 31.
  • Minimum damage increased 20 ⇒ 21.
  • Headshot multiplier increased 1.35 ⇒ 1.52.
  • Neck multiplier decreased 1.35 ⇒ 1.

How to unlock the OTs 9

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout

Unlocking the OTs 9 is relatively simple but time-consuming, requiring you to complete at least 15 different matches.

This is the challenge you will need to complete:

  • Using SMGs, kill 2 or more players rapidly in 15 different completed matches.

We recommend jumping into either Plunder or Rebirth Island, where you’ll have many more opportunities to get two SMG kills in quick succession.

Best alternatives

If you haven’t unlocked the OTs 9 yet or are looking for something with more ammo for squad matches, there are plenty of viable choices besides the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout.

The Bullfrog’s large magazine size makes it a competitive choice in any squad mode, and you can’t go wrong with Modern Warfare’s MP5.

Warzone Sai melee weapon reportedly gives “permanent Dead Silence”

Warzone’s new Sai melee weapon is reportedly silencing players’ footsteps, possibly giving “permanent Dead Silence.”

Warzone player running with Sai Melee weapon

There have been reports that Warzone’s Sai melee weapon makes your footsteps completely silent, but there’s debate on whether the glitch is only for the user.

Warzone players have long complained about audio being an issue. Popular streamer Dr Disrespect almost reached breaking point because of it in Season 3, and a banned Bullfrog Blueprint completely breaks the game audio. Now, it appears the Sai melee weapon is causing issues.

Although players have slammed Warzone’s The Numbers event for being too easy, it has allowed the new Sai melee weapon to be unlocked quickly. However, there appears to be a glitch with the new weapon as players are reporting that it gives “permanent Dead Silence.”

Sai melee weapon in CoD Warzone

Reddit user evsorr shared the odd glitch where they’re running around with Sais, but no footstep audio could be heard, similar to if they had popped Dead Silence. As evidence that it is indeed a glitch, their slide canceling could be heard. There were no players around to test it out on though.

Players in the comments debated the significance of this, with some saying that the footsteps are only silent for the player, but others believe that it does indeed grant permanent Dead Silence.

One player said that they were “being chased out in the open near superstore and the dude was 15m behind me for at least 20 seconds per the kill cam. Didn’t hear a single thing…” And another confirmed the same issue. However, with Warzone’s various audio bugs, there’s no guarantee that the Sai caused the issue.

Another user explained that after testing, they’re “99.9% sure it’s just bugged in first person,” and “others can hear normal footsteps.”

Whether it acts as Dead Silence or not, this does give the Sai user a distinct advantage. Not being able to hear your own footsteps will make it all the easier to pinpoint any enemies moving around nearby.
