A new leak from notable Call of Duty insiders have claimed that Warzone’s Rebirth Island may be replaced when the battle royale’s second season launches in February.

Warzone Season 1’s Pacific update gave fans a refreshing change of scenery with the addition of the Caldera map. The map may only be a couple of months old, but the game’s developers have hinted that we could see some map changes in February’s Season 2.

It seems that Caldera won’t be the only map in Warzone to go through changes in the new update. According to new leaks, Rebirth Island could be replaced with a new map in the upcoming season.

These leaks came from prominent CoD insiders ‘Tom Henderson’ and ‘TheMW2Ghost’ in a January 27 live stream, who shared some rumors about what Raven may have planned for Warzone Pacific Season 2.

TheMW2Ghost claimed that the developers may be planning to replace the popular Rebirth map: “Recently, I was told this map is coming. It’s a new map and it’s for the Warzone anniversary.”

They admitted that they don’t have any details about the new map’s size or location. The leakers also explained that it’s possible that it could just be a “new themed version of [Rebirth].”

If these leaks are accurate, then Rebirth Island could be replaced in a matter of weeks. Another notable CoD leaker ‘TheGhostOfHope’ referred to this new area as the ‘Resurgence’ map.

This insider also added that the plans for this new location aren’t confirmed, claiming that the Warzone developers haven’t decided if the Resurgence map will “replace or rotate with Rebirth Island.”

While this all sounds exciting, it’s worth keeping in mind that these are currently just leaks, and these haven’t been officially confirmed by the developers.

Rebirth Island has a limited lobby size of just 40 players and a smaller layout than Caldera. The close-quarters action makes it popular among Warzone players, and it will be missed if it’s removed from the game.
