Warzone Season 4 is officially here, and as always, Raven Software have updated Verdansk ’84 in an attempt to keep things fresh. With new POIs, a revamped Gulag, and the interesting Red Doors, there’s plenty to see the next time you drop in.

Warzone Season 4 is officially here, with the major patch dropping on June 17 on all platforms. With three new guns, major weapon balance changes, and the new Ground Fall event, there’s plenty for players to sink their teeth into.

Of course, a new seasonal update gives Raven Software the opportunity to tinker with the game’s map, and the developers have added some brand-new Points-of-Interest dotted across the map, while also reworking the Gulag.

Warzone Season 4 Satellite Crash Sites

The biggest change to Verdansk itself are the new Satellite Crash POIs found across the map. As part of the Ground Fall event, a number of Satellites have dropped out of space and crashed into the earth, creating interesting but dangerous locations around Verdansk.

Wreckage can be found in four locations. A field in the Krovnik Farmland has been destroyed by the wreckage, while Gora Bridge suffered some major damage when one fell onto it.

Warzone players can also find a site close to the Salt Mines, while another sits next to the Airport Control Tower.

Warzone Season 4 Hijacked Gulag

The other major change in Season 4 comes to the Gulag, with the contentious Standoff version replaced with a layout based on Hijacked, which joins Black Ops Cold War as a new multiplayer map.

This Gulag is based on the central ship area of Hijacked, with cover in the middle and the covered walkway to the side.

Warzone Season 4 Red Doors & Downtown Tower

Warzone red door fast travel

The long-rumored Red Doors are finally active in Warzone, which appear to randomly spawn and send players to a new location full of high-tier loot.

Downtown Tower has also changed slightly, with slight appearance changes after it was taken over by 80s Action Heroes and transformed into Die Hard’s Nakatomi Plaza during Season 3.

More map changes are being discovered as players explore Verdansk ’84, so be sure to keep checking back as we continue to update with any that are found.

New Cold War and Warzone weapons teased in Season 5 cinematic

Clever CoD fans have spotted several new weapons teased in the Warzone and Cold War Season 5 cinematic, which are likely to arrive soon.

Warzone Season 5 Operator with TEC-9s

In the latest cinematic trailer, eagle-eyed Call of Duty fans have spotted the likely candidates for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 5’s weapons.

Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 4 brought some extremely powerful weapons to the mix, such as the C58 Assault Rifle and Nail Gun. Season 5 has finally been revealed, and players are keen to learn what new weapons Treyarch and Raven Software will bring.

The leaked Season 5 artwork revealed the TEC-9 Pistol would be coming to Call of Duty for the first time, but eagle-eyed fans have spotted several other weapons that have been teased.

Here’s every teased weapon from Season 5’s cinematic trailer.

TEC-9

Warzone and Cold War Season 5 official artwork

Fans first spotted the TEC-9 Pistol when the key art for Warzone and Cold War Season 5 was leaked. The brand-new Operator was seen wielding the automatic pistol Akimbo in both the artwork and now the teaser trailer.

This pistol has never been seen in Call of Duty before, but it could be extremely powerful at close range when dual-wielded.

Soviet Cosmonaut TP-82 Survival Sidearm

In this new trailer, Woods wields a brand-new one-handed Shotgun which some believe to be the Soviet Cosmonaut TP-82 Survival Sidearm.

Russian astronauts brought this small Shotgun to space, so they had some protection when landing in the Siberian wilderness. This sidearm has two Shotgun barrels and a lower rifle barrel that shoots 7.62mm rounds. Fans of Battlefield V will find it extremely familiar to the M30 Drilling, which doubled up as both a Shotgun and Rifle.

There’s no guarantee this is the TP-82, but it looks and acts extremely like it. Whatever this new weapon is, it’s sure to be a unique addition to Season 5.

EM1 Bullpup

Reddit user Vengance183 spotted what appears to be the British EM-1 in the Season 5 cinematic. This was an experimental weapon from the 1940s and was considered high-tech for its day.

One of the Warzone and Cold War Season 5 weapons is carried by Woods’ mysterious new squad member, and we get a good view when he drops it after using it as a club. Vengance183 paused the cinematic here, and we can see that it bears a striking resemblance to the EM-1 Rifle.

This won’t be the first time Cold War brings classic weapons to the game, with the PPSH-41 arriving in Season 3.

And that’s all the new weapons Black Ops Cold War players have spotted in the Season 5 cinematic! We expect a roadmap soon, and then we’ll get official confirmation of all of the new season’s upcoming weapons.

Warzone August 5 update patch notes: Krig 6 & CX-9 changes

In a surprise Warzone update on August 5, Raven Software made significant changes to the popular Krig 6 and brand-new CX-9 SMG.

Warzone Krig 6 nerfed

Raven Software has released a new Game Settings Update for Call of Duty: Warzone on August 5. This new Game Settings update brings a small number of changes.

The Krig 6 has been the most dominant and popular weapon since Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, but the August 5 update is set to change that.

The new update brings a significant nerf to Black Ops Cold War’s Krig 6, as well as Modern Warfare’s newly released CX-9 SMG.

Warzone CX-9 SMG

Warzone Krig 6 nerfed & CX-9 buffed

Although we’re fast approaching August 12’s Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 5, Raven Software has treated fans to two surprise updates this week. First, the long-awaited CX-9 and the Soap Operator bundle finally arrived, and now Raven has released a small, but likely meta-changing, balance update.

In this surprise update, the Krig 6 received an impactful nerf. This weapon was known for its extremely high accuracy and ability to dominate at range. While it still remains as accurate as before, its Lower Torso Multiplier and Maximum Damage Range have been hit.

The Krig 6 will still be able to melt enemies at medium range, but it’ll likely struggle in those long-distance engagements. The C58 Assault Rifle has been a close 2nd place in terms of effectiveness, so it could become the meta once again.

And another surprising tweak, the CX-9 has been buffed. Both its mid damage range and Headshot multiplier have been increased, so the CX-9’s place appears to have been solidified as more of a long-range SMG, that’ll be perfect to pair with Sniper Rifles.

You can check out the exact values below.

Warzone August 5 Update Patch Notes

Krig 6 Warzone Season 4
  • Krig 6 (BOCW)
    • Lower Torso Multiplier decreased from 1.1 to 1
    • Maximum Damage Range decreased from 1500 to 1400
  • CX-9 (MW)
    • Increased mid damage range from 20 to 21
    • Increased Headshot Multiplier from 1.4 to 1.45

JGOD reveals his top tip to boost your Warzone K/D & win more gunfights

JGOD has broken down his top tip to help you win more gunfights and boost your Warzone kill to death ratio.

JGOD and Alex operator from Warzone

Warzone YouTuber JGOD has broken down the simple trick you can use to win more gunfights and “instantly raise your K/D.”

‘Centering’ is a term you may have heard your favorite Call of Duty and Warzone pros use, as it’s one of the most important aspects of any FPS game. Make sure your aim is ‘centered’ and already where you expect enemies to be will allow you to snap onto them much quicker, giving you the edge in gunfights.

Using examples from Warzone’s top professional players, YouTuber JGOD has broken down how important centering is to improve your K/D ratio and winning more gunfights.

What is centering in Warzone?

Centering in Warzone

As JGOD explains, centering is keeping your crosshair in the center of your screen so you’re always ready for a player to appear. This means aiming at chest height at all times where you expect enemies to be, whether that’s in doorways, windows, or out in the open. JGOD explained that sometimes that tiny adjustment you have to make if you’re not centered “is enough to lose you the gunfight.”

Using his own example, when JGOD is aiming at the floor, he has to massively adjust to aim at an enemy, and messes up his shots. He then corrects himself, centers his aim, and easily wins the fight.

He explains that controllers players tend to be the most guilty of aiming at the floor, as his own centering is much better when playing on keyboard and mouse. It could be a battle royale problem, as you’re constantly looking at the ground for loot.

JGOD Warzone centering examples

JGOD then uses top Warzone pro Tommey as an example, explaining how good centering can even correct mistakes. In the middle of a fight, Tommey expected a player to swing through a doorway and was centered ready for the player. Instead, the player dropped down one of the fireman’s poles, and because Tommey was centered, he easily adjusted his aim slightly to the right to win the gunfight.

As another perfect example of centering, JGOD analyzes DougIsRaw’s gameplay. Before Doug dropped down a ladder into the stairs of one of the apartment buildings, he took a second to center his aim to chest height. This allowed him to drop down already with perfect aim, and easily got the kill.

While centering is just instinct for Warzone’s top players, JGOD said that you’ll have to “consciously work on it day after day.” Just keep centering in mind while playing, and you’ll find your gameplay will improve immensely.
