Black Ops Cold War’s Season 4 update went live on June 15, with patch notes for that update available.

Diversity and inclusion are important, and we are excited to expand our in-game representation of LGBTQIA+ identities in honor of Pride month.

GAMEPLAY

  • New Vehicle: Dirt Bike
    • Terror on two wheels arrives in Warzone. Ramp up your off-road antics with this extremely maneuverable scrambler, scattered across Verdansk and ready to use at the start of a match.
      • Speed – Faster than all vehicles, including the ATV.
      • Handling – Drifts at high speeds. Offers finer control at lower speeds. Mastery is key.
      • Durability – Low; same health as the ATV.
      • Capacity – Two Operators: one driver and one passenger. Next to no room to “stack” Operators atop it, such as with the two-passenger ATV.
      • Trophy System Placement – Must stand atop the bike to place a Trophy System; can fit one on the saddle or on front/rear fenders.

  • Loot that spawns across Verdansk has been adjusted as follows…
    • The C58 (BOCW) and MG 82 (BOCW) can be found in the loot pool
    • Combat Bow Killstreak has been added to the loot pool
    • Self-Revive spawn rate has been reduced
  • 1911 (BOCW) starter Handgun now requires three hits to gain bonus Finisher damage instead of two.
    • This change will increase the number of melee hits needed for this Weapon to down an enemy at 200hp by 1.
  • Snapshot Grenade
    • Reveal duration increased from 1.25 to 2 seconds.
    • Hit enemies are now also revealed to your squad.

  • Custom Mods
    • Custom Mods have been enabled for BOCW Weapons. This will allow you to name and save up to five custom Weapon builds as Blueprints.

  • Some thoughts on the Specialist Token…
    • We want exciting items like the Specialist Token in Warzone. However, the ease and consistency of its acquisition was problematic. Ideally drop locations are allowed to be chosen dynamically based on several factors like circle location, infil route, and Player preference. When we introduce an exclusive, powerful item that can only be obtained at one location, it may have a warping effect on gameplay that can diminish early game strategy. We would also like to ensure there is excitement surrounding opening caches or completing Contracts no matter where you are on the map. In order to achieve that, we need to have items that are exceedingly rare but do not have targeted methods of acquisition. We may see the Specialist Token again, perhaps sooner than you might think—but it will be rebalanced in such a way that it offers neither Weapon perks nor drops on death.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed some instances of Dev Error 5573 related to using the CARV.2 (BOCW).
  • Updating Challenges that referred to the Quarry to correctly indicate the Salt Mine.
  • Fixed an issue where a Player’s downed movement speed would remain at a slowed state after being partially revived by a teammate.
  • Fixed issue with the Tactical Rifle Charlie (BOCW) causing some Operators to have their heads disappear when using tactical equipment.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Gas closing in” voiceover was playing on infill for Resurgence Trios playlists.
  • Fixed an issue where Scavenger Contracts would sometimes spawn inside the bridge near Stadium.
  • Fixed an issue where Plunder Contracts were not properly showing Contract instructions and rewards.
  • Fixed an issue where muzzles on the FARA 83 (BOCW) Weapon icon were misaligned.
  • Fixed an issue where Players could survive a Finishing Move if they had just started using an ascender.
  • Fixed an issue where pings on enemies would disappear and no audio would play.
  • Fixed an issue with the lighting during the infiltration sequence of Rebirth Island.
  • Fixed an issue in the corners of one of the buildings in Rebirth Island that caused a sun glare effect when GPUs run at high temperatures.
  • Fixed several missing collision map exploit issues in Rebirth Island.

UI/UX, Social, & More

  • Friends List now has improved responsiveness.
  • Added the ability for Players to favorite up to 14 Operators.
  • Added the ability to filter Operators by favorites and sort according to faction.
  • Added the ability for Players to preview skins from the customization menu (accessible only for unlocked Operators).
  • Added the ability to allow Players to Play Again with Team, allowing them to stay connected with Players who aren’t in their party.

In a future patch, we will be making sweeping balance changes to Weapons. Let us take a moment to discuss the philosophy behind that decision. At a high level, Warzone is a game about engagements. The more time we allot to mechanical and strategic expression within engagements, the higher the ‘skill ceiling’ and the longer our personal journey of mastery. We believe the frequency of those engagements and how we navigate them heavily contributes to the overall level of fun. We want to enable more escapes from impossible situations, moments of finesse, epic outplays, and opportunities to flex exquisite marksmanship. Due to some Weapons being far more lethal than others in their class, we feel a reduction in the efficacy of those outliers is necessary. We expect these changes will bring the average Time to Kill up by approximately 60 to 100 milliseconds. These changes will not only increase the overall capacity for skill expression, but should also introduce some Weapons into viability that have not yet had a chance to shine.

We will begin laying the groundwork for the upcoming balance overhaul with the following adjustments:

  • Assault Rifles
    • CR-56 AMAX (MW)
      • Upper Torso Damage multiplier decreased from 1.2 to 1.1
      • The real strength of the CR-56 AMAX (MW) layed in its long-range viability and the consistency of its Time to Kill. While we have made several moves to reduce its power level, the third time is in fact, the charm. We love the CR-56 AMAX (MW) and we will likely see it return in the future when the massive balance overhaul takes place. Though for now, we would like to shake up the long-range space and see what rises to the top.
    • Groza (BOCW)
      • Minimum Damage increased from 18 to 23
      • Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1.1 to 1.2
      • Lower Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1
      • Maximum Damage range decreased by 12%
      • As a relatively slow-firing, low damage Assault Rifle, it is no surprise that the Groza (BOCW) has underperformed since its preemptive balance adjustment at the beginning of Season Three. This tune up should put it in a solid position in short to mid-range mobility based AR builds.
    • Assault Rifle Golf (MW)
      • Neck Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.5
      • Upper Torso damage multiplier increased from 1 to 1.2
      • We would like to avoid increasing the power level of a Qeapon to a point where we would need to reduce it shortly after in the following balance overhaul. With that being said, the Assault Rifle Golf (MW) may soon see another power increase in the near future, but we think an improvement to its average Time to Kill is a good place to start.

    • XM4 (BOCW)
      • Neck Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.5
      • We consider increases to Neck Damage Multipliers a small buff realistically, as they make landing headshots only slightly more likely. We feel the XM4 (BOCW) is close to being in a great spot and we are aiming for this change to get it there.
  • Handguns
    • AMP63 (BOCW)
      • Maximum Damage increased from 30 to 33
      • Second Damage range increased by 14.3%
      • Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1
      • Extremities Damage Multipliers increased from .9 to 1
      • Head Damage Multiplier decreased from 1.4 to 1.3
      • The AMP63 (BOCW) did not have its fastest Time to Kill improved by these changes. Rather, its TTK breakpoints were shifted around and its Second Damage range was pushed out. A move we felt was necessary to help offset its limited magazine capacity and rate of fire. These changes should provide another compelling Secondary Weapon option alongside the Sykov (MW) to complement non-Overkill loadouts.
  • Melee
    • Ballistic Knife (BOCW)
      • Projectile Velocity increased by 25%
      • Neck Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.3
      • Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.23
      • Move Speed increased by 1.3%
      • The Ballistic Knife will become a desirable selection for melee aficionados following these changes. With additional mobility, improved Projectile Velocity, and more generous locational multipliers—letting someone wielding the Ballistic Knife get too close is a mistake you will only make once… or twice per game.
  • Shotguns
    • Streetsweeper (BOCW)
      • Maximum Damage range decreased by 24%
      • Second Damage range decreased by 18%
      • Third Damage range decreased by 7%
      • Move Speed decreased by 1%
      • The Streetsweeper (BOCW) has one of the best short-range kill death ratios of any Weapon in Warzone. The issue is with the right Attachments that lethal range could be stretched out further than we would like. The Streetsweeper (BOCW) will still be very deadly, but will now require you to be a few steps closer to your target to maximize its effectiveness.
  • Sniper Rifles
    • Sniper Rifle Charlie (BOCW)
      • Bullet Velocity increased by 7.7%
      • Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1.1 to 1.25
      • Lower Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.15
      • In a previous patch, the Sniper Rifle Charlie (BOCW) underwent a change to its identity. Now, as a slower firing Sniper Rifle, we feel it is necessary to increase its Damage and Bullet Velocity to compensate more adequately. We will be keeping a close eye on it to ensure it occupies this role successfully.
    • Swiss K31 (BOCW)
      • Base Optic functionality improved
      • Base Reticle updated
  • Submachine Guns
    • Submachine Gun Alpha (MW)
      • Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1
      • Maximum Damage range increased by 10%
      • The Submachine Gun Alpha (MW) has a ludicrously fast Time to Kill when landing all headshots within its Maximum Damage range. However, outside of those two conditions, it performed far less reliably than its peers. While we do not expect this change to jettison the Submachine Gun Alpha (MW) to the top of SMG viability, we are positioning it to excel in our upcoming balance overhaul.
    • Bullfrog (BOCW)
      • Ironsights ADS position adjusted
      • These changes should allow for better ADS visibility without optics.
    • KSP 45 (BOCW)
      • Maximum damage range increased by 16.6%
      • Extremities multipliers increased from .9 to 1
      • The KSP 45 (BOCW) has a fast Time to Kill potential. Insomuch that when considering how to increase its effectiveness, we were concerned not to push it too hard, for fear of making it dominant. It is understandable why one would steer clear of a short to mid-range burst-fire Weapon considering how low the margin for error is in that engagement range. However, two well placed bursts with the KSP 45 (BOCW) will put someone out of commission faster than you might expect.
    • Milano 821 (BOCW)
      • Maximum Damage increased from 34 to 36
      • Minimum Damage increased from 25 to 30
      • Maximum Damage range increased by 23%
      • Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.2
      • Lower Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1
      • Extremities Damage Multipliers increased from .9 to 1
      • The Milano 821 (BOCW) needed a lot of love for it to reach a semi-viable state. We will see how it shapes up over the first half of Season Four and make any necessary changes at that time.
    • Submachine Gun Echo (MW)
      • Maximum Damage increased from 34 to 35
      • Extremities Damage Multipliers increased from .9 to 1
      • Much like its BOCW counterpart, the Submachine Gun Echo (MW) relies heavily on well-placed shots. These changes should make it a tad more forgiving.
  • Tactical Rifles
    • DMR 14 (BOCW)
      • Recoil magnitude decreased
      • Even after its falling out, the DMR 14 (BOCW) is still a respectable choice with the right Attachments. A little bump to help stay on target at a distance should help the DMR 14 (BOCW) hold its own in the face of fierce mid to long-range competition.

ATTACHMENTS

  • Barrels
    • Combat Recon (Snipers)
      • Pelington 703 (BOCW)
        • Bullet Velocity increased from 42.5% to 47.5%
      • Sniper Rifle Charlie (BOCW)
        • Bullet Velocity increased from 42.5% to 50%

      • Swiss K31 (BOCW)
        • Bullet Velocity increased from 43% to 50%

      • LW3 – Tundra (BOCW)

      • ZRG 20mm (BOCW)
        • Bullet Velocity increased from 42.5% to 43%

    • These changes will bring the longest BOCW Sniper barrels much closer to parity with Modern Warfare equivalents.

      • Now increases Hip Spread by 25%

    • Task Force/Spetsnaz RPK/CMV Mil-Spec (Assault Rifle, Light Machine Guns)

      • Now increases Horizontal Recoil Control by 15%
      • Now increases Vertical Recoil Control by 15%
      • Now decreases ADS Move Speed by 20%
      • Now decreases Sprint Speed by 5%
      • Now decreases ADS Speed by 6%
      • Now increases Hip Spread by 30%

    • Recoil Control has long been a detractor to the long-range viability of BOCW Weapons. These changes will help alleviate that and provide a more diverse selection of Weapons in that engagement space.

  • Optics
    • Most BOCW Reticles have been updated.
    • Axial Arms 3x
      • Optic position shifted

Best OTs 9 loadout for CoD: Warzone Pacific Season 1

Here are the best attachments, Perks and Equipment to use with the powerful OTs 9 SMG in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Warzone Pacific OTs 9 loadout

The OTs 9 SMG is another meta pick in Warzone Pacific’s huge arsenal of weaponry, so here are the best attachments and Perks to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout and maximize its potential in Season 1.

Black Ops Cold War’s OTs 9 remains a great choice to consider when it comes to a powerful close-quarters weapon in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

This fast-firing SMG boasts a highly competitive time to kill, so you can use it to dominate your opponents in close-range combat – especially on the confines of Rebirth Island

We have all of the attachments and Perks you should run to make the best Warzone Pacific OTs 9 loadout.

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout attachments

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout
  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Ammunition: VDV 40 Rnd Fast Mag

The best Warzone OTs 9 loadout is built to dominate at close range but will be better suited for Solos and Duo matches because of its smaller magazine size.

To start the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout, we’ve opted for the GRU Suppressor. This is the standard for most SMG builds because of its massive increase in bullet velocity, range, and recoil control while keeping you off the minimap when firing.

Next, the 8.1″ Task Force barrel further increases this range while boosting strafe speed. Its only downside is that it will make the OTs kick more, but it’s perfect for a close-range build.

As this is a close-range build, speed and mobility are key. Combining the Tiger Team Spotlight and the KGB Skeletal Stock will vastly improve your sprint to fire and aim walk moving speed, making you a tough target.

Finally, to get the largest magazine size possible, you should use the VDV 40 Rnd Fast Mag which also gives a much faster reload.

Best Perks & Equipment to use with OTs 9 class

Warzone E.O.D, overkill, and amped perks
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill then Ghost
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal: Throwing Knife
  • Tactical: Stun Grenades

To start, you want to use E.O.D to survive any explosive damage, which is necessary when using an SMG up-close.

Then, you want to use Overkill to pair the OTs 9 with the Bren or Swiss K31. Afterward, you want to take Ghost from your next loadout to hide from Heartbeat Sensors and UAVs.

Amped is a great choice for Amped for our final Perk, as it allows you to switch weapons much faster and makes sure you do not get caught switching weapons when an enemy begins to fire at you.

For Equipment, we recommend combining the Throwing Knife and Stun Grenades. The Throwing Knife is perfect to quickly finish off downed enemies, and the Stuns will almost render your opponent powerless.

Most recent OTs 9 buffs and nerfs in Warzone

OTs 9 SMG in Warzone

Raven Software realized that the OTs 9 was extremely powerful, so gave it a fairly significant nerf in one of Warzone Pacific’s first updates.

The December 9 update reduced its maximum damage and headshot multiplier, making it more in line with the game’s other SMGs.

Here are all the recent changes to the OTs 9:

  • OTs 9 (BOCW)
    • Maximum Damage decreased to 30, down from 31
    • Headshot Damage Multiplier decreased to 1.33, down from 1.52

How to unlock the OTs 9 in Warzone

OTs 9 SMG in Black Ops Cold War

Unlocking the OTs 9 is relatively simple but time-consuming, requiring you to complete at least 15 different matches.

This is the challenge you will need to complete:

  • Using SMGs, kill 2 or more players rapidly in 15 different completed matches.

We recommend jumping into either Plunder or Rebirth Island, where you’ll have many more opportunities to get two SMG kills in quick succession.

If you haven’t unlocked the OTs 9 yet or are looking for something with more ammo for squad matches, there are plenty of viable choices besides the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout.

The Bullfrog’s large magazine size makes it a competitive choice in any squad mode, and you can’t go wrong with the new hip-fire PPSh loadout that’s been dominating the game.

Best guns in Warzone Pacific Season 1

10. OTs 9

Best Warzone ots 9 loadout

The OTs 9 has long been a powerful choice in Warzone, and even though it’s a Cold War weapon, it’s still got a place in Warzone Pacific.

Warzone players love a low TTK SMG, and the OTs 9 fits that category perfectly. It has minimal recoil and can kill extremely quickly, which makes it a powerful choice whether you’re pairing it with an Assault Rifle or Sniper Rifle.

You’ll likely still see a ton of OTs 9s in Caldera thanks to its accuracy and power.

9. BAR

Best BAR Warzone Pacific

The BAR isn’t the easiest weapon to use in Warzone Pacific, but there are very few Assault Rifles that can outgun it.

Although its slow fire rate makes tracking moving targets quite tough, each bullet hits like a truck. Once you get used to that slow fire rate, you’ll likely have great success with the BAR, especially when fighting players face-to-face.

It’s not the best at close-range though, so make sure you stick to the outdoors.

8. MP40

MP40 Warzone Pacific loadout

Similar to the STG, the MP40 is incredibly effective because it’s so easy to use and will tear through enemies extremely quickly.

Although it’s the first SMG you unlock, the MP40 has almost no recoil and great mobility. If you’re unsure which SMG to level up and use in Caldera, we can’t recommend the MP40 enough. Plus, there are plenty of great versions of it as ground loot, too.

7. STG44

STG44 Assault Rifle in Warzone

The STG44 is an extremely popular choice because it’s the first Assault Rifle you unlock in Vanguard and is extremely easy to use.

It’s almost the M4A1 of WW2, being a great jack of all trades. It’s neither the most powerful nor the most accurate, but players of all skill levels can take advantage of it. Plus, the Gunsmith system allows the STG to be built for almost any situation, but we recommend using it at medium to long-range.

6. Welgun – Best SMG in Warzone Pacific

Best Warzone Welgun loadout

The Welgun arrived in Warzone Pacific Season 1’s mid-season update and quickly became the go-to SMG for many players.

Boasting a faster TTK than the MP40 and minimal recoil, the Welgun has been labeled “overpowered” by many content creators and is the obvious choice alongside your favorite Assault Rifle or LMG.

The only problem with the Welgun is that a glitch is stopping players from unlocking it in Warzone, but Raven Software are aware of the issue.

5. Cooper Carbine

Best Warzone Pacific cooper carbine loadout

The Cooper Carbine was new to both Warzone and Vanguard with the launch of Season 1, and quickly became one of the best weapons in the game.

It was originally best suited for close-range but even after Raven Software nerfed it, it’s still remained top of the pack. Its fast fire rate and extremely low recoil make it incredibly easy to use at range, even if the TTK isn’t the best on this list.

4. Cold War AK-47 – Best Assault Rifle in Warzone Pacific

Warzone Pacific Cold War AK-47 loadout

It took some time for Cold War’s AK-47 to join Warzone’s meta but once it did, it secured its place.

With extremely fast TTK, Cold War’s AK-47 is the perfect choice for either a long-range or sniper support build. You may have some trouble getting used to the high recoil, but there are few guns capable of taking it down.

No matter your playstyle, the AK-47 is a great choice across both Caldera and Rebirth Island.

3. Swiss K31

Best Warzone Swiss K31 loadout

The Swiss K31 wasn’t a particularly strong Sniper Rifle when it was first released, but some powerful buffs to Cold War snipers have made it a very strong option for those who favor picking off enemies from a distance.

This Sniper Rifle has one of the best ADS times in its class, making it a perfect option for quickscopers who like to get into their opponents’ faces.

We’ve ranked it below the Kar98k simply because it has less aim assist, but if you’re a mouse and keyboard player, the Swiss K31 could be the weapon for you.

2. Bren – Best LMG in Warzone Pacific

Bren LMG in Warzone Pacific

Although quite slow, the Bren has remained an incredibly powerful weapon even after nerfs. You won’t be able to dart around finessing your opponents, but it has almost zero recoil allowing you to beam any opponent that crosses your path.

The Bren has extremely low recoil for an LMG, which makes it a fantastic choice whether you’ve built your own loadout or are using it as ground loot. We expect it to get nerfed again ahead of Season 2.

1. Kar98k – Best Sniper/Marksman Rifle in Warzone Pacific

Warzone Kar98k marksman rifle

If you want a Sniper Rifle that’s both quick and accurate, Modern Warfare’s Kar98k is the strongest choice available. Although being a Marksman Rifle, equipping the Kar with a Sniper Scope will make it the most aggressive sniper build in Warzone.

Being only slightly slower than the Swiss, it’s fast enough that you’ll be able to quickscope enemies up close. Starting a fight with a couple of easy headshots will put your team at a distinct advantage. And with its one-shot headshot and minimal bullet drop, you can effectively snipe at long-range too.

Sniper Rifles still dominate after the Warzone Pacific update, so you’ll want to make sure that someone in your squad is running one – and we fully recommend the Kar98k.

Those are the top 10 weapons you should be using in Warzone Pacific Caldera. Expect this list to keep on changing as weapons are buffed and nerfed.

FaZe Swagg shares Warzone “AIMBOT” STG44 loadout

FaZe Swagg has shared the perfect attachments to make an “aimbot” STG44 AR loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Published

Swagg STG44 warzone loadout

The STG44 has been a reliable option in Warzone Pacific since Vanguard’s integration and FaZe Swagg has just revealed his aimbot STG44 loadout that will have you shooting beams.

Warzone Pacific’s mid-Season 1 update introduced players to the Welgun but it also brought along buffs and nerfs to several established Vanguard weapons. The STG44 was an early favorite when Warzone Pacific launched but was quickly taken over by the Bren.

Now, it seems like the STG44 is enjoying a second stint in the limelight, and FaZe Swagg has just the loadout to turn the Assault Rifle into a killing machine in Warzone Pacific.

Not only did the STG44 receive a buff but the widely popular Bren received a much-needed nerf which allowed players to explore other long-range options.

It didn’t take long for players to revisit an old favorite but this time FaZe Swagg uses different attachments to make the weapon shoot as straight as possible.

FaZe Swagg paired this aimbot STG44 loadout with an MP40 to cover close-range gunfights and racked up 33 kills on his way to a commanding Duos victory.

Swagg explains the STG’s potential, “They buffed the STG a lot making it have no visual recoil and then you got on some of the attachments that I have it makes it an overall top AR meta”.

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: VDD 760mm 05B
  • Optic: G16 2.5x
  • Stock: VDD 34S Weighted
  • Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 50 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk 1: Focus
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

Swagg makes this weapon as steady as can be from long-range with the VDD 760mm 05B, VDD 34S Weighted, and m1941 Hand Stop. Thanks to the recent buff Swagg can afford to swap the F8 Stabilizer for the Recoil Booster which increases the fire rate significantly.

The G16 2.5x optic is standard for Warzone Pacific as are the 7.62 Gorenko 50 Round Mags. Finally, Swagg makes an interesting choice to forgo the popular Vital Perk and instead opt for Focus which reduces the amount of flinch given while shot whilst aiming.

This means when enemy players are trying to take Swagg down, he can still get clean shots off and escape with his life.
