Warzone Season 4 Operators fighting

Warzone Season 4 is officially here, and as always, Raven Software have introduced some huge weapon balancing changes. With Assault Rifles, SMGs, Snipers, and more, all affected, check out every weapon buff and nerf in Warzone Season 4.

A new season means another massive update for Call of Duty’s popular battle royale title, with new map Fortune’s Keep and major Caldera map changes headlining the packed Warzone Season 4 patch notes.

Of course, a seasonal patch often brings big shifts in the game’s meta too, with Raven Software adding new weapons, and balancing the existing arsenal of guns.

Raven have been hard at work tweaking guns across multiple weapon classes, and for many, all eyes will be on the STG44 that dominated the game for much of Warzone Season 3. There’s a ton of changes to go through, so here’s every Warzone Season 4 weapon buff and nerf.

STG44 receives big nerf in Season 4

When you think of Warzone Season 3, one weapon has truly dominated the meta. The STG44 was the most popular gun in the game for almost the entire season, with the NZ-41 finally usurping it just days before the Season 4 patch.

Raven Software have clearly been keeping an eye on this gun, and have moved to weaken it, bringing it in line with the other Assault Rifles in its class. The STG has had its minimum damage, Muzzle Velocity, headshot multiplier, and neck locational damage multiplier all decreased as a result.

On top of that, Raven have also taken aim at some of the gun’s attachments too, with the 7.62 Gorenko 50 Round Mags, VDD 760mm 05B barrel, and 8mm Kurz 60 Round Drum all taking a hit too.

ITRA Burst receives buff

While Vanguard ARs received a significant nerf, the game’s ITRA Burst rifle may just become a more popular option with the Season 4 patch.

Raven have increased the weapon’s Muzzle Velocity by a whopping 11%, and have increased its Upper Torso Damage Multiplier to 1.2, which is up from 1.1.

Melee

Melee Weapons were often falling short of a straight up engagement in cqc, in addition their movement speeds were no longer competitive with some of the faster and more aggressive Weapon builds. As a result many Melee Weapons have had their swing time (the time it takes to swing the weapon in succession) and movement speed adjusted positively.

The RATT (VG) damage potential was significantly higher when not using a Barrel, we’re addressing that by appropriately increasing the Empress Barrels damage profile and reducing the rate of fire penalty.

    • Horizontal Recoil Control decreased to -20%, down from -18%
  • Botti DA
    • Recoil decreased to 11%, down from 14%

The Armaguerra 43 (VG) currently fills a jack of all trades role, where it doesn’t particularly excel at any-one thing. While this is an identity we want to enforce, we’re making some adjustments to ensure that within its Max damage range it performs more consistently and is less likely to lose a close range gunfight.

H4 Blixen (VG)

  • 7.62 Gorenko 54 Round Mags
    • Headshot Damage Multiplier decreased to 18%, down from 25%

The H4 Blixen (VG) made a pretty impressive statement when it first launched and we’ve seen its adoption rate higher than any midseason weapon in Warzone’s history. This is largely due to the overall effectiveness of the weapon. This update attempts to slightly adjust its Damage profile and overall mobility dominance to weaken its mid range effectiveness, where the weapon has been performing most consistently above the competition.

Best Warzone AS44 loadout attachments

AS44 assault rifle warzone pacific
  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: Kovalevskaya 615mm
  • Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
  • Stock: Kovalevskaya Custom
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 50 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Hatched Grip
  • Perk: Disable
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

We’ll start off this Warzone Pacific loadout by equipping the MX Silencer and Kovalevskaya 615mm to bring the weapon’s recoil under control while boosting its accuracy and effective damage range.

The Hatched Grip and the Kovalevskaya Custom will boost the weapon’s flinch resistance and recoil control, allowing you to beam enemies with the AS44. You can take advantage of the improved accuracy by equipping the SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x optic to pick off distant foes.

We picked the 7.62 Gorenko 50 Round Mags to ensure that the AS44 has enough ammo to bring down multiple targets as well as increase recoil control and accuracy further. The Lengthened ammo type will provide the AR’s bullet velocity with a boost.

Coming to our choice of perks, we went with Disable to make enemies less capable of escaping after your bullets slow their movement speed, and with Fully Loaded, you’ll start off with the maximum amount of ammo.

Best AS44 Perks and Equipment

Warzone E.O.D, Ghost, and Amped Perks
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal: Throwing Knife
  • Tactical: Stun

We recommend equipping the E.O.D Perk to make you more resistant to explosive damage from grenades and thermites that enemies throw at you. Overkill will allow you to pair the AS44 with a close-range weapon like the H4 Blixen.

You should select Amped as your final Perk so that you can instantly switch between your two weapons. The Throwing Knife will let you easily finish downed enemies that you’ve rushed, while the Stun will make that rush down a simpler task.

How to unlock the AS44 in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific

AS44 in Warzone

You can unlock the AS44 after reaching Rank 33, and using a Warzone Double XP event is a great opportunity to level up in the game much quicker.

Most of the attachments used to create this loadout are unlocked at later levels. Without some key attachments, you’ll certainly notice this weapon’s obnoxious recoil. Rest assured, with the right attachments the AS44 is a menace.

Warzone Pacific alternatives to the AS44

If you want a great alternative to the AS44 then we recommend trying out the KG M40 which is also garnering attention in Season 4 as a fantastic long-range Assault Rifle. Of course, even after the June 30 nerf, the NZ-41 is still a devastating option in Season 4.

Surprise Warzone AR is Season 4’s easiest weapon to use

A surprising Warzone AR is set to challenge the NZ-41 as the top long-range Warzone weapon in Season 4 thanks to its extremely low recoil.

Warzone KG M40 Assault Rifle

After the NZ-41 received a significant nerf in Season 4, Warzone experts are in agreement that an easy-to-use Vanguard AR could take over as a dominant long-range weapon in Warzone.

Warzone’s long-range meta is constantly shifting as weapons receive buffs and nerfs with each new update. Previously, the STG44 was a dominant force before the NZ-41 took its spot as the top option. However, since the June 30 update nerfed the NZ-41, a new weapon could take over.

It seems several Warzone experts are suggesting that the same Vanguard Assault Rifle is destined to rise to the top in Season 4. The weapon is a surprising pick, but thanks to its friendly recoil pattern, it’s becoming difficult to ignore.

KG M40 Warzone Assault Rifle

The KG M40 made its way to Warzone Pacific during Season 2 as a free Battle Pass weapon. Unfortunately, it immediately failed to make an impression given how competitive the Assault Rifle meta was at the time.

However, it seems like the underrated AR could finally get its time to shine in Season 4 as Warzone expert Isaac ‘IceManIsaac‘ Hamilton claims that recent buffs have made the weapon a top-tier option.

IceManIsaac claims that this weapon will not fly under the radar for much longer as it rivals the NZ-41, “The key thing about this build when compared to the NZ is less recoil, better bullet velocity, and a comparable time to kill.”

  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: Reisdorf 720mm Shrouded
  • Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
  • Stock: VDD 22G Padded
  • Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
  • Magazine: 8mm Klauser 60 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Grooved Grip
  • Perk: Tight Grip
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

The KG M40 also caught the eye of JGOD as the stats specialist agrees with IceManIsaac’s assessment that the weapon’s recoil makes it one of the easiest to use for long-range gunfights.

In Season 4, the KG M40 had its minimum damage increased from 24 to 26, its recoil intensity adjusted to account for less reliance on Tight Grip, and many of its attachments got buffed.

Given the type of engagements you’ll be taking with the KG M40, attachments like Tight Grip, M1930 Strife Angled, and VDD 22G Padded focus on boosting control and accuracy.

IceManIsaac explains that the ability to equip a precision scope like the SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x makes it superior to stable Modern Warfare ARs like the M13 that “doesn’t have a long-reaching optic where you can zoom across the map.”
