Warzone Season 5 Reloaded weapon buffs & nerfs: ARs, Krig, M16, SMGs, MP5, more

Warzone’s Season 5 Reloaded update includes significant balancing changes to a number of weapons, including C58, SMGs, M16, and more.

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Reloaded is here, and the team at Raven Software have included made some major changes to the weapons and weapon balancing within Verdansk, with buffs and nerfs for a number of guns across Modern Warfare & Cold War weapons.

Raven Software has ben keeping the weapon meta fresh in Warzone as part of different updates, allowing a better balance of the overall weapons.

With the launch of the Season 5 Reloaded patch in Warzone on September 8, Raven Software has made a number of adjustments to the weapons in the game, across both Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare weapons.

Raven’s patch notes describes how they decided to make changes for Season 5 Reloaded:

“While assessing the power level of BOCW Weapons, we have observed some disparities between ease of use and efficacy. The Krig 6 (BOCW) has shown an impressive performance at just about every engagement range. While we believe it is important to have a wide array of Weapons which can be utilized by players of all skill levels — it is critical to the health of the game that their effectiveness scales appropriately with the skill required to wield them.

If players can be as effective with a Weapon that is pinpoint accurate that has a marginally slower Time to Kill potential than the hardest to wield Weapons, why would they choose another? As we continue to address these Weapons, we will also be making adjustments to BOCW attachments that offer Recoil Control. We feel these changes will provide a fairer, more diverse long-range landscape.

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded Weapon Changes

Assault Rifle updates in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded

Raven has made numerous changes to assault rifles, with emphasis on changes to Cold War’s ARs, in the Season 5 Reloaded update.

The newest update includes updates for Modern Warfare’s AR Bravo and a nerf for the Cold War’s C58 rifle.

Other Assault Rife changes in Season 5 Reloaded include updates for the Groza, Krig, and EM2 in game. There’s a buff included for the Krig, which stabilizes its recoil pattern.

Here’s the full list of Assault Rifle Changes:

  • C58 (BOCW)
    • Recoil adjusted

High damage Weapons like the C58 (BOCW) tend to adhere to a lower Rate of Fire and higher Recoil, which generally balances out their hasty Time to Kill potential. Much like the Krig 6 (BOCW), the C58 (BOCW) was a tad easier to control than we feel is appropriate for a Weapon with its damage profile. While “Recoil adjusted” can be rather nebulous, the exact details of these changes can often be difficult to quantify with numbers alone. While the C58’s (BOCW) Recoil has been increased slightly, the majority of this change will be felt in the Recoil Pattern deviation. When this deviation is increased, it can create subtle shifts which become increasingly difficult to compensate for given distance from the target.

  • EM2 (BOCW)
    • Base Optic eye position retracted

The EM2 (BOCW) is not receiving a direct reduction to its efficacy with this change. However, it will result in the Base Optic being a less suitable substitute for higher magnification optics. This, however, in conjunction with the changes to Recoil Control barrels will make the EM2 a slightly less viable option to lesser skilled marksmen.

  • Assault Rifle Bravo (MW)
    • Upper Torso Multiplier decreased from 1.1 to 1

To the dismay or surprise of some, our data suggests that the Assault Rifle Bravo (MW) is an absolute monster. The Assault Rifle Bravo (MW) will still be capable of achieving an extremely low Time to Kill, though that speed will now be locked behind an additional Headshot. Changes like these align more closely with our goal to shift consistently acquirable TTKs out of the 300ms range.

  • Groza (BOCW)
    • Sprint to Fire Speed increased by 15%

The Groza (BOCW) has not yet fulfilled the role we had intended for it. As a more ‘bruiser’ oriented, AR-SMG hybrid, its slow base Sprint to Fire Speed has continued to hold it back considerably. With this change, it will be able to more reliably contest SMGs in short-range engagements.

  • Krig 6 (BOCW)
    • Maximum Damage decreased from 30 to 29
    • Mid Damage now 25
    • Minimum Damage decreased from 25 to 23
    • Weapon Kick adjusted

The vast majority of kills with the Krig 6 (BOCW) take place within its Max Damage Range, which unsurprisingly, is the longest of all BOCW Assault Rifles. This change will affect most Time to Kill breakpoints within its Maximum Damage Range by one bullet. Additionally, we have added a third Damage Range. Which is a change we do not suspect to be immensely impactful, as builds that extend Damage Range could push the Mid Damage Range out to nearly 100 meters — which is well beyond the average kill distance for the Krig 6 (BOCW). Though, it is not all bad for the Krig 6 (BOCW); we have reduced some of the Weapon’s ‘bounciness’ while firing which we feel makes it more enjoyable to use.

SMG changes in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded

Raven Software has made certain adjustments to Warzone’s SMGs to allow for better balance set between the weapons in the category.

The SMG changes in the Season 5 Reloaded update effect both Modern Warfare & Cold War weapons, including the OTs 9 & PPSH. Another nerf for Modern Warfare’s MP5 also included in the update.

Here’s the full changes for SMGs in Warzone with Season 5 Reloaded:

  • Submachine Gun Charlie (MW) with 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags
    • Maximum Damage decreased from 34 to 31

This Maximum Damage change mirrors the adjustment to the base Submachine Gun Charlie (MW) made earlier this season.

  • OTs 9 (BOCW)
    • Maximum Damage Range decreased by 6.2%

The OTs 9 (BOCW) might be a bit stronger than we would like, but we would first like to see how this change broadly impacts the Weapon’s viability. The OTs 9 (BOCW) was always intended to be the quintessence of barrel stuffing Submachine Guns. A Submachine Gun that was intended to challenge Shotguns within their Effective Damage Range. We believe it is achieving that, but its Maximum Damage range, while shorter than each other BOCW SMG, might still be too long. We will continue to closely monitor the performance of the OTs 9 (BOCW) following this change.

  • PPSh-41 (BOCW)
    • Weapon Kick adjusted
    • ADS Sway adjusted

While firing the PPSh-41 (BOCW), the Weapon could kick in a manner that would make it difficult to gauge bullet directionality. This is a subtle change that will have a significant impact on the ability to reliably line up shots.

Tactical Rifles updated in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded

Season 5 Reloaded weapon changes continued with changes to the Tactical Rifles weapon class in Call of Duty: Warzone.

This update includes changes to Black Ops Cold War’s Tactical Rifles, including M16 and DMR. The balancing was a fix of nerfs and buffs, depending on the weapon.

Check the list to see all the Tactical Rifle updates:

  • Tactical Rifle Charlie (BOCW)
    • Recoil decreased

The Tactical Rifle Charlie (BOCW), and many other Tactical Rifles have remained out of the spotlight for nearly three seasons. Given that, we feel now is a good time to reassess their effectiveness, cognizant of the razor’s edge of balance on which Burst Weapons exist. While this change will make the Tactical Rifle Charlie (BOCW) far easier to stay on target with, the reduction in effectiveness to Titanium barrels remains intact, which heavily contributed to the dominance of the Tactical Rifle Charlie (BOCW) and M16 (BOCW) several seasons ago.

  • DMR 14 (BOCW)
    • Recoil adjusted

Rather than an outright ‘decrease’ to Recoil, this change is more of a rework. The DMR 14 (BOCW) has languished since its changes in season one, but it has not been forgotten. Expect the DMR 14 (BOCW) to feel like a new Weapon. Semi-auto Weapon enthusiasts rejoice, as the DMR 14 (BOCW) may see a real resurgence following this change.

  • M16 (BOCW)
    • Weapon Kick decreased

Of the Tactical Rifles adjusted in this patch, the M16 received the smallest change. This is partly because we feel the M16 (BOCW) is already in an acceptable spot for Burst Weapons.

  • Type 63 (BOCW)
    • Headshot Multiplier decreased from 2.1 to 1.58
    • Neck Multiplier increased from 1.2 to 1.58
    • Upper Torso Multiplier decreased from 1.2 to 1
    • Lower Torso Multiplier decreased from 1.1 to 1
    • Weapon Kick decreased

The Type 63 (BOCW) has become quite infamous recently — and for good reason. With a single Headshot, Time to Kill could be reduced to 332ms and with two, a mind boggling 166ms. A speed which only Sniper Rifles could compete with a TTK of 0 (only the travel time of the bullet). This should put into perspective how out of line the Type 63 (BOCW) was. While these changes seem extreme, a TTK of 332ms is still possible, it will just require three headshots instead of one.

Additional Weapon Changes – Snipers & LMGs

The Season 5 Reloaded update also includes some minor changes to the Cold War’s Sniper Rifles, along with smaller changes for one LMG.

Here’s the Sniper Rifle & LMG changes in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded:

Sniper Rifles

  • Swiss K31 (BOCW)
    • Recoil adjusted

We have improved the firing Recoil behavior for the Swiss K31 (BOCW). We expect this change to go largely unnoticed as it does not have a measurable impact on the Weapon’s effectiveness but should improve its overall feel.

  • ZRG 20mm (BOCW)
    • Recoil adjusted

Much like the Swiss K31 (BOCW), the ZRG 20mm (BOCW) has received some changes to its firing Recoil behavior to ensure that it looks, sounds, and most importantly feels like one of the baddest Sniper Rifles in Verdansk.

Light Machine Guns

  • Light Machine Gun Alpha (BOCW)
    • Recoil increased slightly

And that’s a wrap on the weapon changes as part of Season 5 Reloaded. The variety of weapons and meta continues to shift as Raven Software looks to balance out the offering in game.

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded has brought some new blueprints to the game, but some players are curious about the Cursed Angel AK-47 blueprint.

The Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update has been a huge success so far, especially due to the popularity of the new Iron Trials mode, which a lot of players are saying should be a permanent mode.

The recent Blueprint Blitz Event allowed players to gain some blueprints from previous seasons, with one past blueprint, in particular, gaining a lot of attention, the Cursed Angel blueprint for the Black Ops Cold War AK-47.

How to get the Warzone Cursed Angel blueprint

The Warzone Cursed Angel AK-47 is part of the Angels & Demons Reactive Anime Bundle, available in Warzone and Black Ops cold War Season 3. Unfortunately, it was not part of the recent Blueprint Blitz Event, so there is no current way to obtain it.

The bundle cost 1,800 CoD Points and featured six items:

  • Cursed Angel – AK-47 blueprint
  • Divine Blossom – M82 blueprint
  • Good and Evil – Charm
  • Angel’s Grace – Calling Card
  • Demon’s Lust – Calling Card
  • Sword Singer – Emblem

The item rarity ranges from Ultra to Legendary, with the Cursed Angel being the Ultra weapon blueprint of the bundle.

The Warzone Cursed Angel blueprint features a reactive skin with anime-inspired art that changes colors as you get kills in a match. The blueprint has four stages:

  1. Base stage – 3 kills
  2. Second stage – 6 kills
  3. Third stage – 9 kills
  4. Fourth stage – 12 kills

You can check out how the Warzone Cursed Angel blueprint changes colors in the video below:

For those who love anime and also like to collect great blueprints and skins, the Warzone Cursed Angel was one to pick up, as it makes the weapon pop, especially when you get it to the final form.

Unfortunately, until the Warzone Cursed Angel blueprint is released in a future Blueprint Blitz Event or is rotated back into the game store, players will not be able to obtain it for the time being.

Best Warzone assault rifle loadouts

We’ve placed every Call of Duty: Warzone Assault Rifle into a ranked list and counted down the top AR loadouts you can run in Season 5 Reloaded.

Assault Rifles are a staple in Call of Duty. Capable of dealing high damage at almost any range, they’re the go-to for the majority of players. They’re especially prominent in Warzone for their versatility, and through the Gunsmith system, you can build them any way you like.

With every season and update, Warzone’s meta shifts. The Season 5 Reloaded update made impactful changes, and then September 15’s update brought down the best Assault Rifles. After these updates, a new meta has emerged.

Here’s a ranked list of every AR in Warzone Season 5, and loadouts for the top five.

  22. Modern Warfare AK-47

Best Warzone AR loadouts

Here are the best Assault Rifles to use in Verdansk ’84 and Rebirth Island in Warzone Season 5.

These AR loadouts suit a range of different playstyles, whether you’re using it as a long-range beamer on Verdansk or for taking on any fight Rebirth Island throws at you.

5. Grau 5.56

Modern Warfare Grau 5.56

The Grau 5.56 has long been a fan-favorite weapon, and nerfs in Season 5 have brought it back to the spotlight.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus 26.4″ Archangel
  • Muzzle: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags

What makes the Grau so powerful is its accuracy. Now that the zero-recoil Krig has finally been nerfed, the Grau could easily become the go-to choice for players looking for an easy-to-use Assault Rifle. Plus, it can be fitted with the Fully Loaded Perk to help you out in a pinch.

4. QBZ-83

QBZ-83 Warzone

You may be surprised to see the QBZ-83 on this list, the changes made in the Season 4 Reloaded update have catapulted it to be one of the best Assault Rifles in the game.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 15.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd Drum

The QBZ had long been considered one of Warzone’s worst Assault Rifles, but that all changed. Its minimum damage was increased, as well as its torso damage multipliers which made it the most underrated weapon.

With these attachments, it’s extremely easy to control and has a competitive TTK to boot. We don’t think it feels as nice as the weapons above it on this list, but you may have a ton of success while using it in Season 5 – particularly in Rebirth Island.

3. C58

Warzone C58 loadout

Warzone Season 4’s C58 quickly became recognized as an absolute powerhouse. It was one of the best ground loot options Warzone has seen, and it’s even better with a custom loadout.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 18.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 55 Rnd

Unlike some of the other weapons on this list, the C58’s close-range power is held back by its low fire rate, but its high damage and accuracy make it one of the best long-range options. If you spend some time learning how to use this beast, it’ll serve you extremely well when fighting in both Rebirth Island and Verdansk ’84.

2. FARA 83

Warzone FARA 83

The FARA 83 dominated Warzone up until the Season 4 Reloaded update where a nerf to its recoil control has just edged it out from the top spot. Now, following the September 15 update, the FARA has become an incredibly viable choice again.

  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: 16.7″ Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: Spetsnaz 60 Rnd

With almost no recoil and solid damage, the FARA 83 is an extremely easy weapon to use. Fans of the Grau 5.56 and Kilo 141 metas will enjoy using this build as it can simply laser enemies at range with a competitive TTK up-close.

While it doesn’t have the recoil control it once did, it didn’t get nerfed too hard on September 15, so it’s become a great option again.

1. Cold War AK-47

Ak 47 in Warzone

The Cold War AK-47 seriously fell down the rankings in Season 4 and 5, but after it wasn’t touched by the September 15 update, it is now arguably the best choice.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 27.4″ Ranger
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: 40 Rnd

Although not as easy to control as some of the other weapons on this list, the AK-47 absolutely slaps. It has a fantastic TTK and the recoil pattern is manageable for most players, so it’s very difficult to go wrong with this classic CoD Assault Rifle.

Also, you can build it for more close-range fights if you’d rather use it alongside some of the best Sniper Rifles in the game.

Bring any of these ARs into Verdansk ’84 in Warzone Season 5, and you’ll find yourself using some of the best weapons in Call of Duty’s battle royale.

Best Gallo SA12 loadout for CoD: Warzone Season 5

Find out how to make the powerful Gallo SA12 Shotgun an even bigger beast in Warzone Season 5 with the best Gallo loadout.

Published

on

Best Warzone Gallo Loadout

Black Ops Cold War’s Gallo SA12 Shotgun is a force to be reckoned with, and we have the best Warzone Gallo loadout featuring the strongest attachments and Perks in Season 5.

There are a ton of exciting new changes to go through in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Reloaded. This includes various weapon buffs and nerfs that have opened up the meta for the Call of Duty battle royale, with the Gallo Shotgun becoming a very viable option for players.

The Gallo SA12 is an incredibly powerful shotgun that you can use to absolutely annihilate your enemies in close-range combat. That’s why it ranked fairly well in our Season 5 weapons tier list.

Here’s the best Warzone Gallo loadout that you can use in Warzone Season 5.

Best Warzone Gallo SA12 loadout

best warzone Gallo SA12 loadout

Best Warzone Gallo loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: Duckbill Choke
  • Barrel: 24.6″ Ranger
  • Laser: SWAT 5mw Laser Sight
  • Ammunition: STANAG 12 Rnd Tube
  • Rear Grip: Field Tape

The first step in the best Warzone Gallo loadout is to apply the Duckbill Choke muzzle as it will widen the shotgun’s pellet spread, allowing you to deal damage at medium range. As a result, you won’t need to ADS.

The 24.6″ Ranger barrel does wonders for the Gallo’s effective damage range at the cost of ADS speed. Luckily, you won’t notice the loss since you’re not aiming down your sights with a shotgun often.

Since the best Warzone Gallo loadout excels in close-range firefights, the SWAT 5mw Laser Sight is an ideal addition for the boost it will provide to your hip-fire accuracy.

If you intend to unload lots of shells and need more in reserve, then the STANAG 12 Rnd Tube will sort that.

To finish off our best Warzone Gallo loadout attachments, we’ll add the Field Tape, which will massively increase the weapon’s flinch resistance. Now, you won’t have to worry about missing your targets in-between shots.

Best perks for Gallo SA12 Warzone class

Amped perk in Warzone
  • Perk 1: Double Time
  • Perk 2: Overkill / Ghost
  • Perk 3: Combat Scout

To close the gap between yourself and other players, the extra sprint afforded by Double Time is invaluable in the best Warzone Gallo loadout, as is the quicker crouching so you can sneak up on enemies.

Overkill is a given as you need a long-range weapon to pair alongside the best Warzone Gallo loadout. Ghost can be acquired in a second loadout and will stop you from being detected on UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors.

Combat Scout is a new meta perk in Season 5, thanks to Raven Software, and you’d be foolish not to have this bad boy equipped. Hit an enemy, and it’ll lock on to that opponent for a few seconds, giving you a superb advantage in battle.

Most recent Gallo SA12 buffs and nerfs

Gallo SA12 in Warzone

It’s been quite some time since the Gallo SA12 was adjusted by Raven Software, as it seems to be quite balanced overall.

The weapon is banned from competitive play, and many players prefer to use Assault Rifles and SMGs anyway. If the Gallo SA12 does get any new tuning, then we’ll update this section.

How to unlock the Gallo SA12 for Warzone

Close up look at Warzone's Gallo

Unlocking the Gallo is easy in Warzone Season 4, as you need to reach Level 34 in either Warzone or Black Ops Cold War for the Shotgun to become available.

The good news is that progression carries over between Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, so no matter which game you’re playing, you’re always gaining XP towards getting the Gallo SA12.

Best alternatives

If the best Warzone Gallo loadout is maybe not your cup of tea, then the Streetsweeper is another monstrous alternative for you to consider in Warzone due to its fire rate and power.

Be sure to pick a long-range weapon to complement the best Warzone Gallo SA12 loadout. The C58 is great at mid-to-long range, whereas the Kar98k still dominates with a sniper scope.
