Black Ops Cold War players frustrated with Warzone-exclusive Operator challenges

Black Ops Cold War players are growing frustrated with the game’s Operator Challenges, some of which force them to play Warzone.

Some of Black Ops Cold War’s Operators have challenges that require you to play Warzone to unlock camos and this is frustrating its fanbase.

The crossover between BOCW and Warzone added a whole wealth of new content for Warzone players including a lot of new guns to play with. This greatly bolstered the Battle Royale experience and changed the dynamics of the game’s meta.

On the other side of things, it seems that both games are not being considered as separate games. Operators in Black Ops Cold War have specific challenges that require you to play Warzone in order to complete. Given that some people don’t like Warzone, they feel like they’re being shortchanged.

Warzone exclusive Operator Challenges for BOCW

Both games are currently active alongside one another. This is clearly evident in the respective game’s home screens as you can seamlessly switch between them.

This is supposed to promote unity and allow greater accessibility between Activision Blizzard‘s Call of Duty titles. However, fans are growing tired of the notion that they are very much linked with each other instead of being treated as individual experiences.

The official Black Ops Cold War subreddit has a popular thread showcasing the dismay of many of the game’s players. Reddit user Snatisfaction posted their dissatisfaction for all to see. People with similar views agreed in droves.

“Ah, getting my full £50 worth that I spent on purchasing the game to receive content that’s actually telling me to play a different game. Nice mentality.”

The reoccurring complaint is that lots of people have paid a lot of money to play Black Ops Cold War. But to gain access to the content they have rightly paid for, they’re being forced to play another game – a free one at that – to get their content.

Some people will argue that these challenges are entirely optional. But others will argue will that this is irrelevant and shouldn’t be a thing in the first place.

It’ll be in the hands of the devs as to whether or not they decide to change this and have separate challenges for each game. But if the negativity continues to rise and spread, then they may be forced to take action.

Best perks to use in Call of Duty: Warzone

Every CoD loadout needs the best perks to match, so here are the best perks to use in Warzone Season 1’s Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Published

on

A CoD loadout is nothing without the upgrades to match, so here are the best perks to give you a competitive edge in any Warzone game mode.

While Warzone is now a standalone game, it is still connected to Modern Warfare. It uses its engine, menus, movement system, and perks. In Warzone Season 1, none of the perks from Black Ops Cold War can be used, so you must equip Modern Warfare’s.

Here are the best perks to use in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1.

Perk 1

CoD Warzone EOD perk

E.O.D

E.O.D reduces explosive damage taken, which makes it a vital Perk in Call of Duty: Warzone. If you’re stuck in a room with players outside, expect a barrage of Semtex and Frag Grenades coming at you. If you have any hope of surviving, you need to have E.O.D equipped.

As long as you have a sliver of armor left, you can survive any explosive other than a direct hit, so keep putting on plates and you’ll be invulnerable.

Double Time

Double Time allows you to Tactical Sprint for longer, as well as crouch walk faster. Mobility is key for pushing enemies and avoiding the closing circle of gas.

In solos, you need to be the first person in the next zone and Double Time will allow you to quickly move around the map without a vehicle revealing your location. The increased crouch walk speed also gives you high mobility while sneaking up on enemies.

Perk 2

CoD Warzone Overkill perk

Overkill

With Verdansk having both long lines of sight and close-quarters combat, most players bring both a long-range and up-close weapon in their loadout. The Warzone meta following the DMR nerf is a Kar98k paired with either an FFAR or MAC-10.

Use Overkill to get both weapons in your first loadout for effectiveness at all ranges, then take either Ghost or Restock from your next loadout crate and you’ll have the best of both worlds.

Ghost

Ghost is probably the most used perk in Warzone. With UAV’s constantly being popped, and almost every player running a heartbeat sensor, keeping yourself off the radar is vital.

You can sneak up on teams and make a quick getaway if you’re in a tight spot. Or, if you’re a building camper (no judgments here), listen to your enemy’s rage in the death chatter as you take them by surprise.

Restock

CoD Warzone Restock perk

Restock is only useful if you’re an extremely confident, aggressive player. If you’re driving around the map taking out bounty target after bounty target, Restock is a must-pick. Starting a fight with a well-placed Stun Grenade will almost always give you the kill, and Restock allows you to get your equipment back every 50 seconds.

You’ll lose out on the Ghost perk, but if you’re driving at enemies to take them out as quickly as possible, then Ghost really won’t be necessary.

Perk 3

Amped

As Gaz said in Call of Duty 4, “switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading.” This remains true in Warzone over a decade later, and the Amped perk makes this all the more effective.

There’s nothing worse than running out of ammo and watching helplessly as you’re taken out while either switching weapons or reloading. Amped allows you to almost instantly swap weapons so you can keep shooting with minimal delay.

Tracker

CoD Warzone Tracker perk

This perk is especially effective in solo matches, where you’ll usually only be focusing on a single player at a time. This perk allows you to see the enemy’s footsteps so you know if someone has been nearby recently. With how slow and tactical solo matches can be, you’ll be surprised how many times it will save your skin.

Best perks for Warzone solos

Warzone solos is almost an entirely different game from squads, where you must quickly rotate into new zones and know where enemy players are in order to survive. Here are the best perks to get that solo victory.

  1. Double Time
  2. Ghost
  3. Tracker

Best perks for Warzone squads (duos/trios/quads)

In Warzone quads, you’ll be fighting multiple enemies at once so you’ll need E.O.D to survive multiple explosions and Amped to avoid reloading mid-fight.

  1. E.O.D
  2. Overkill then Ghost
  3. Amped

Run these perks along with the meta weapons, and you’ll be putting yourself at a significant advantage in both Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

NICKMERCS reveals his dominant FFAR Warzone loadout

The FFAR has become one of Warzone’s most powerful weapons. Here’s NICKMERCS complete loadout for the Assault Rifle.

The FFAR is undergoing a resurgence in Warzone thanks to recent nerfs to the DMR. Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has created a new, overpowered loadout to dominate Warzone.

The Warzone landscape has officially changed with the DMR no longer being a dominating force that puts other weapons to shame. It’s eligibility as a bonafide Warzone winner has gone. This means that other weapons are now in the running as the main meta weapon.

An old Black Ops Cold War favorite is very much popular at the moment. So much so that NICKMERCS is running the FFAR in Warzone and he’s found the perfect way to utilize it.

NICKMERCS FFAR Warzone loadout

There’s been a lot of discussion since the Warzone Jan 13 update as to what could become the new king of Call of Duty. The Kilo 141, the M4, and AMAX have all been discussed as heir apparent.

But many people, NICKMERCS included, have taken to the FFAR. The weapon is essentially the FAMAS, which has been present in multiple CoD games over the years, and it ruled BOCW’s early days.

Here are all the setting that NICKMERCS uses for his FFAR in Warzone.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 21.2” Ranger
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Ammunition: Salvo 50 round fast mag
  • Stock: Raider Stock

The loadout does take a hit on the FFAR’s accuracy somewhat. But it also greatly increases its range and damage. For someone like NICKMERCS, a drop-off in accuracy isn’t the end of the world as it’s far more manageable for a pro like him.

So many guns, integrated from Treyarch‘s Black Ops Cold War, have been dropping like flies recently. Along with the DMR, we’ve also seen the demise of the MAC-10 and the Diamattis.

Even though he thinks that the FFAR could “replace a lot of the SMGs”, NICKMERCS also says: “Are you going to see me or anyone else for that matter with this in a tournament? Er, nah.”

It remains to be seen how long the FFAR will be a go-to weapon for Warzone players. But in any event, it’s definitely an option to consider for the foreseeable future.
