A new set of changes have arrived for Call of Duty: Warzone with the September 23 update patch notes that have been revealed by Raven Software.

Season 5 Reloaded has brought major changes to the world of Warzone with The Numbers Event, Mobile Broadcast Stations, Iron Trials ’84, and various weapon buffs and nerfs.

However, Raven Software is still working on the Call of Duty battle royale to ensure it is the best it can be with the Warzone September 23 update patch notes set to bring game-changing alterations to the game.

Two of the most significant changes in the Warzone September 23 update patch notes are no doubt a nerf to the Bullfrog SMG and a slight buff for the Krig 6 Assault Rifle.

Here is everything you need to know about the Warzone September 23 update patch notes.

Modes

Iron Trials ’84

The following changes are exclusive to the Iron Trials ’84 mode:

  • Buy Stations
    • The Specialist Token has been added
    • Supply Run discounts are now 50% on every item except Team Redeploy (100%), Loadout Drop Marker (10%), and Specialist Token (10%)
    • The Hardline Perk now gives a 25% discount to every item except Self Revive (20%), Loadout Drop Marker (10%), and Specialist Token (20%)

We suspect very few people will be able to say they’ve purchased a Specialist Token. However, we do feel there is an opportunity to provide high tier Players with additional impactful outlets for their hard earned resources. Additionally, further enabling purchasing power with Hardline is something we would like to continue to explore.

  • Contracts
    • Contract Cash rewards (per Player) have been reduced. Multiplier values are unchanged.
      • Recon
        • $1,300 down to $1,100
      • Scavenger
        • $2,500 down to $1,600
      • Bounty
        • $3,800 down to $2,500
      • Supply Run
        • $1,300 down to $1,200

We recognize that this may be a polarizing change, but we feel it is a necessary one. When we gate access to Loadouts behind a large price tag, as is the case, we force players to continue moving around the map. This works to disincentivize camping. While we do not anticipate this change will have a large impact on the most skilled Players – those who stay put and avoid engagements will find themselves resource strained and quickly falling behind. This is part of how we subtly encourage map movement and fighting. Additionally, we feel scavenging, being resourceful, and barely scraping by is part of what adds to the charm and intensity of the Trials. This dynamic makes room for, and emphasizes other facets of skill like movement, teamwork, strategy, and map knowledge. By delaying Loadout acquisition, we are further smoothing out player power such that each increase to it is much more noticeable and allows more room for those secondary skillsets to shine. We will be monitoring the mode and Player feedback closely to ensure this change is having the intended effect.

  • Gulag
    • Light Machine Guns (except the RPD (BOCW)) and all Tactical Rifles have been removed from Gulag Loadouts.

We feel an emphasis on Submachine Guns and Assault Rifles better suits this version of the Gulag.

  • Melee
    • Weapons will no longer deal more than 120 damage per melee hit.

  • Loot
    • Armor Satchel, Gas Mask, and Self Revive drop rates have been reduced
    • Ground Loot XM4 (BOCW) attachments have been updated
    • Ground Loot Bullfrog (BOCW) attachments have been updated

The XM4 (BOCW) and Bullfrog (BOCW) Attachments are now more closely aligned with popular builds.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed additional collision issues with various elements on Rebirth Island allowing Players to exploit/peek/shoot through them.
  • Fixed an issue with the Bullfrog (BOCW) that reduced recoil while firing.

Weapons

Submachine Guns

  • Bullfrog (BOCW)
    • ADS Speed decreased by 9%
    • Movement Speed decreased by 1%
    • ADS Movement Speed decreased by 2%

The Bullfrog (BOCW) is a true jack of all trades. It has great Mobility, Effective Damage Range, Handling, and base Magazine Capacity – which would often act as a free Attachment. These changes, in conjunction with a Recoil bug fix, will bring the Bullfrog (BOCW) much closer to the competition.

  • Shotgun Bravo (BOCW)
    • Maximum Damage Range decreased from 4.5 to 3.5 meters
    • Second Damage Range decreased from 8.1 to 5.5 meters
    • Third Damage Range decreased from 13.2 to 9.9 meters

The Shotgun Bravo (BOCW) has been incredibly dominant due to its Effective Damage Range, Magazine Capacity, Mobility, and Rate of Fire. By reducing its Effective Damage Ranges, the Shotgun Bravo (BOCW) will begin to feel more like a Shotgun and less like a Sniper.

Attachments

Barrels

  • Krig 6 (BOCW)
    • 19.7” Takedown
      • Horizontal Recoil Control increased from 8% to 9%
    • 19.7” Ranger
      • Vertical Recoil Control increased from 8% to 9%
    • 15.5” Contour
      • Horizontal Recoil Control increased from 4% to 5%
      • Vertical Recoil Control increased from 4% to 5%
    • 15” CMV Mil-Spec
      • Horizontal Recoil Control increased from 8% to 9%
      • Vertical Recoil Control increased from 8% to 9%

Given the Krig 6’s (BOCW) most recent adjustments, we felt it was appropriate to increase the effectiveness of its Recoil Control Attachments slightly.

  • AK-47 (BOCW)
    • 18.2” Takedown
      • Horizontal Recoil Control decreased from 11.1% to 10%
    • 20” Liberator
      • Vertical Recoil Control decreased from 11.1% to 10%
    • 18.2” VDV Reinforced
      • Horizontal Recoil Control decreased from 5.5% to 4%
      • Vertical Recoil Control decreased from 5.5% to 4%
    • 20” Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
      • Horizontal Recoil Control decreased from 9% to 8%
      • Vertical Recoil Control decreased from 9% to 8.5%

  • XM4 (BOCW)
    • 13.7” Takedown
      • Horizontal Recoil Control decreased from 11.3% to 10%

    • 13.7” Ranger
      • Vertical Recoil Control decreased from 11.3% to 10%

    • 13.5” Reinforced Heavy
      • Horizontal Recoil Recoil Control decreased from 5.5 to 4%

    • 13.5” Task Force
      • Horizontal Recoil Control decreased from 9% to 8%
      • Vertical Recoil Control decreased from 9% to 8%

Warzone players call for devs to not remove Rebirth Island with Vanguard integration

With Call of Duty: Vanguard on the way, players are worried about what will happen to the popular Rebirth Island mode in Warzone.

Warzone players have been begging the developers at Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games to keep the Rebirth Island mode after Vanguard’s integration.

With Warzone now in Season 6, players have had a lot of time with the Rebirth Island mode, as it was released back in the first season of Black Ops Cold War‘s integration with the battle royale.

Players are fond of it, as some are even calling for the devs to keep it in the game even after Vanguard‘s release.

With Vanguard not too far out now, releasing November 5, players are anticipating the game’s integration into Warzone, which could happen just a couple of weeks after launch.

Of course, players are extremely excited about the new Pacific map, but at the same tie, some are worried that the Rebirth Island Alcatraz map and mode will be lost.

Reddit user BaconHamAndCheese12 put up a post recently expressing their worries about Rebirth Island continuing even after Vanguard’s release.

The player is passionate about the mode remaining in the game, as the caption reads: “When we get the new Pacific map and Vanguard is integrated, are we going to lose Rebirth Island?”

The post goes on to question whether the map will remain, or even if the Resurgence mode will get a new “smaller map” introduced along with Vanguard.

The user then states “I really don’t hope we lose Rebirth Island and Resurgence,” showing their love for both the map and mode. As the post asks whether or not there has been any information on this topic, sadly there has not, and it is unclear what will happen to the mode after Vanguard is integrated.

Many users in the comments also feel the same way, with one even saying: “I was genuinely concerned about this too and it’s a topic nobody seems to be talking about.”

We know many Warzone players absolutely love Rebirth Island and Resurgence, so we too hope that the mode and map returns, and if not the same, hopefully, a new variation of it.

Warzone could potentially lose a lot of its player base who love the mode, as some players exclusively play Rebirth Island due to its fun, intense gameplay.

We’ll have to see what happens when the devs comment on the topic, but for now, check out the current Warzone Season 6 meta.

World Series of Warzone Standings Leaderboard

The fourth World Series of Warzone tournament will see Duos from North America compete for the top spot in the final standings leaderboard, and we have everything you need to know about the competition covered for you.

Competitive Warzone has become one of the most popular esports scenes globally since the release of the Call of Duty battle royale in 2020.

While various tournament organizers and players have helped to propel the popularity of the game’s competitive scene, the World Series of Warzone is kicking it up a great deal, with a total of $1,200,000 being awarded throughout four different tournaments.

World Series of Warzone Standings leaderboard

The first event saw NA Trios compete against each other, with Team Aydan securing the victory. The second World Series of Warzone competition had Trios from Europe take the spotlight, with Team Jukeyz taking home the championship on August 4, 2021.

The World Series of Warzone action picked back up on September 15 when the EU Duos event took place, and the Duo of MethodzSick and Dagati was able to take home the victory.

All of the action from this year’s World Series of Warzone will come to a close when the NA Duos tournament takes place on November 17, and we have the draft, standings, stream, and everything else you need to know covered below.

World Series of Warzone Standings Leaderboard

We will update this section with the latest World Series of Warzone standings leaderboard throughout the NA duos competition.

World Series of Warzone Draft

World Series of Warzone North America Duos captains

The NA Duos event will see five pre-selected captains form their own team and then draft additional teams to form their captain squad.

These five captain teams competed to secure the most collective points from placements and kills to earn a $100,000 prize pool and the Captain’s Cup championship.

The NA Duos World Series of Warzone draft will take place on November 19 at 12 PM PT / 2 PM CST / 3 PM EST. The tournament will then take place at the same time on November 17, 2021.

Twitch Rivals Stream

All of the action from the draft and tournament will be broadcasted on the official Twitch Rivals stream.

Alternatively, every competitor will also stream their point of view during the tournament so viewers can watch the action from their favorite player’s POV.

World Series of Warzone Teams

We will update this section with all of the competing teams that will be battling for the top spot in the NA Duos World Series of Warzone standings leaderboard when they are officially revealed.

Format

EU Duos Format

The NA Duos event will see one major change compared to the first two tournaments and was implemented in the EU Duos competition. Game six will not affect the final World Series of Warzone standings for the individual teams or the Captain’s Cup.

Instead, game six will be its own competition, as all of the 150 competing players will drop into a single match as solo players, with the last player standing getting $100,000.

Prize pool

The Captains and their teams will compete for a share of the $300,000 Prize Pool. The teams’ prize pool will be $200k, with another $100k on the line for the Captain’s Cup.

Here’s the prize pool rundown:

Here’s the Captain’s Placement prize pool:

There is no doubt that the World Series of Warzone NA Duos event will deliver just as many exciting moments and memories as the previous competitions did beforehand as all of the players compete to be at the top of the final World Series of Warzone standings.
