A key part of the success of Call of Duty: Warzone is the ability to squad up and play online with friends. But if your desired teammate is in the same room as you, can you play split-screen in Warzone?

There’s no denying that while there’s plenty of reasons to drop into a game of Warzone, it’s the ability to play with friends that keep many fans coming back.

Tackling the latest season, or the new Iron Trials mode, with a squad of friends on the mic makes the experience much smoother.

But what if the person you want to play with is in the same house, on the same console? Let’s take a look at everything we know about Warzone split-screen.

Does Warzone have split-screen?

Many games have offered split-screen options in the past to let friends share the same TV or monitor but control separate characters. Split-screen isn’t always a priority for developers, as wider access to online services has made it far less of a must-have

The feature is mainly used in games that promote co-op campaigns, like Halo or Borderlands 3. Call of Duty’s traditional multiplayer mode did adopt the feature as far back as Call of Duty 2 and continues to support it in Black Ops Cold War. Disappearing

Unfortunately, Warzone doesn’t have the option of split-screen play. The only solution for players at the moment is to set up a separate console and screen with an online connection – which may not be practical for some.

No specific reasons have been given by Raven as to why Warzone doesn’t have split-screen, although it could be related to the sheer size and scale of each game.

However, fellow battle royale Fortnite did add the feature later on after fans consistently called for it, so there is always a chance Warzone split-screen come in a future update.

For now, players will have to ask their friends to bring their consoles with them to have any hope of recreating a similar experience that Warzone split-screen would provide.
