Warzone stats expert claims buffed Cold War weapon can rival Vanguard SMGs
Warzone expert WhosImmortal explains how a Season 4 buff has allowed a Cold War SMG to rival Vanguard’s dominant selection of close-range weapons.
When analyzing the current list of best Warzone SMGs, it’s clear to see the trend of Vanguard weapons being on top. Whether it’s the H4 Blixen, Welgun, or Armaguerra 43, there’s no shortage of meta Vanguard SMGs in Warzone at the moment. Unfortunately, a ton of players are displeased with the dominance of Vanguard weapons.
However, those who prefer to avoid Vanguard weapons could be in luck as a Warzone stats expert suggests that a forgotten Cold War SMG is just as viable in Warzone, after receiving a buff in the Season 4 update.
In the Warzone Season 4 update, the iconic MAC-10 from Black Ops Cold War received a significant buff. The weapon was one of the few Cold War or Modern Warfare weapons that received balancing changes.
Ultimately, the changes should please the majority of players who tend to lean on non-Vanguard weapons in Warzone.
Thanks to minimum damage, headshot multiplayer, and damage range increases, Warzone expert WhosImmortal believes that the weapon has what it takes to rival Vanguard SMGs.

WhosImmortal claims that the buff to its damage range has made the MAC-10 one of the best Sniper support SMGs in the game.
While certain Vanguard SMGs are clearly superior, the MAC-10 can stand on equal footing when compared to other top-tier Sniper support weapons like the Welgun: “It’s going to be up there with things like the Welgun.”
He also compares it to the MP40 and Marco 5 SMG which could be utilized in a similar fashion and the results are the same: “It’s definitely back in that Sniper support meta.” He explains that you won’t be punished for using the MAC-10 over Vanguard SMGs, which is a huge help for players who feel comfortable with Cold War weapons.
WhosImmortal explains that while four of the five attachments are set in stone to maximize the SMG’s versatility as a Sniper support weapon, the fifth and final one is up to personal preference.
The Raider Stock, Serpent Wrap, and Field Agent Grip are all great options. Ultimately, he recommends the Raider Stock as the boost to strafe speed is great for a Sniper support loadout.
