Operation Monarch added Godzilla vs King Kong to Warzone, and popular streamers like NICKMERCS and Dr Disrespect have slammed the event, while others such as JGOD have offered more balanced criticism.

Warzone Pacific Season 3 got a major content drop in the form of the new Godzilla vs Kong event that brought a brand-new limited-time mode called Operation Monarch as well as Kong, Godzilla, and Mechagodzilla Operator bundles.

While the introduction of these famous titans has certainly shaken things up in Warzone, not everybody is impressed with the event, and popular streamers have slammed it in their reviews.

Hours after the arrival of Operation Monarch, Warzone streamer Herschel ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm IV shared his thoughts on the event. He was not a fan of Godzilla and Kong’s arrival as he gave it a rating of 2.2/10.

Dr Disrespect tweeted on May 11: “What am I… 9 years old?” While he didn’t elaborate further, his review makes it clear that he felt that the addition of the legendary movie monsters didn’t suit the game.

Dr Disrespect isn’t the only streamer that is disappointed in Operation Monarch, as FaZe streamer Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff tweeted his own review of the event, deeming it “awful.”

NICKMERCS tweeted on May 11: “This Warzone event is awful. Maybe we’re spoiled from the Fortnite ones but damn bro. King Kong and Godzilla don’t even fight.”

While NICKMERCS and Dr Disrespect found the event to be underwhelming, Call of Duty stats expert JGOD had more positive things to say about the event, but still offered his fair share of criticism.

JGOD tweeted: “Godzilla & Kong feel present on the map for all players throughout the match. Biggest drawback I am seeing is that they don’t interact even in a cutscene after a win. Better than Train event 100%.”

The Warzone expert elaborated his opinion in a new video, claiming that the Operation Monarch LTM is cool for a couple of games, but starts to get stale after a while. Like NICKMERCS, he drew comparisons of this event to those in Fortnite.

JGOD stated: “I think there are some limitations with the engine compared to Fortnite, where they’re able to do these extravagant events and set the bar so high.” Despite this, he still encouraged players to hop into the event in order to earn weapon XP fast.

JGOD claimed that the biggest issue with the event is that the trailer for the event created hype for a fight between Godzilla and Kong. Since that battle isn’t present, it set a “false expectation” among players.

Responding to this, another popular streamer, Kalei ‘FaZe Kalei’ Renay, also shared her disappointment with the Warzone Operation Monarch event, claiming that the trailer set “unrealistic standards.”

Kalei used to stream Warzone before switching to Apex Legends, so she has a ton of experience with the flagship Call of Duty battle royale title and feels that the new event is in dire need of improvement.

There are a variety of different opinions coming in from players who hop into Operation Monarch in Warzone. Be sure to try out the Kong vs Godzilla event for yourself and see how you enjoy it.
