Warzone & Vanguard players slam “embarrassing” Attack on Titan crossover
Warzone & Vanguard players are not impressed with CoD’s Attack on Titan crossover, claiming Fortnite’s collabs are much better.
After months of hype, Call of Duty’s highly anticipated Attack on Titan crossover has finally arrived. Unfortunately, Warzone & Vanguard fans are not impressed by the cosmetics.
Attack on Titan is one of the most popular anime series in the world. The show follows the story of Eren Yeager, a young man whose family is killed by the monstrous humanoid creatures known as Titans who roam across the land.
With the second part of Attack on Titan’s fourth and final season starting on January 9, Vanguard and Warzone’s Season 1.5 update was the perfect time to announce the special cosmetic pack that was first leaked months ago.
Unfortunately, fans who were super excited to see Attack on Titan join the world of Call of Duty have been left disappointed, claiming that the skin and pack just aren’t worth the money.
The release of the bundle has not been met which much enthusiasm, with players slamming the Operator skin included in the bundle. While the developers have claimed the skin is not meant to be an exact replica of the character Levi Ackerman, the scarf and hairstyle are identical to what the Survey Corps Captain sports throughout the show.
“Look at that haircut and tell me that’s not supposed to be Levi,” one Reddit user commented. “They are probably backtracking now because everyone hates how he looks.”
“Yeah, the scarf and the hair are dead giveaways,” agreed another. “Honestly, if they just made it so he looked like an average AoT soldier, I’d be totally fine with it. They don’t have to make it based on a character as the outfits themselves are super cool.”
For others, the $20 price tag was a major sticking point, especially considering what the Attack on Titan skin looks like.
User ‘iiAmTheAnimail’ wrote: Oh wow, what an embarrassment this is. I don’t even watch AoT and I can tell this is a load of horsesh*t. Only $20 dollars! What a steal!”
Anime crossovers aren’t new in the gaming scene. In November 2021, Fortnite introduced Naruto skins into the game, allowing players to fight for wins as their favorite characters.
Crossovers in Epic Games’ battle royale are generally viewed favorably, with one CoD fan stating: “This is why Fortnite gets all these different collabs because at least they do it properly.”
For players who still want to get their hands on the Attack on Titan bundle, it will be added to the in-game stores of Vanguard and Warzone on Thursday, January 20.
The Tracer Pack: Attach on Titan includes a skin, charm, sticker, emblem, three finishing moves, the Titan Piercer melee weapon, and two Weapon Blueprints for the Sten and Volk.

How to unlock RA 225 SMG in Warzone & Vanguard Season 5
Warzone and Vanguard’s new Season 5 SMG is set to deliver incredible mobility and a fast fire rate, so here’s how to unlock the RA 225.
The RA 225 SMG is making its way to Vanguard and Warzone during Season 5, and the weapon’s speed in tight spaces should be a valuable addition to both games.
With Season 5 set to act as the final chapter of Vanguard and Warzone before players move on to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, the RA 225 will be one of the last weapons to enter the fold.
We’ve seen a ton of post-launch Vanguard SMGs join the pool of weapons over the seasons, and it’s only right that players receive one final SMG before saying goodbye.
The new SMG will rely on a high fire rate and excellent mobility to dominate Season 5 of Warzone and Vanguard, so here’s how to unlock the RA 225.
How to unlock the RA 225 SMG in Warzone & Vanguard
Warzone and Vanguard’s RA 225 SMG will arrive at the start of Season 5 on August 24, and it will be available through the Battle Pass. At the moment, we don’t know the exact tier that the weapon will become available, but it should be either 15 or 31 according to previous seasons.
The RA 225 SMG will be one of two weapons arriving via the Season 5 Battle Pass, with the EX1 being the other. These two weapons should be free unlocks that occupy tiers 15 and 31 of the Battle Pass.
The Call of Duty blog for the Season 5 roadmap explains that “this SMG has a high fire rate and a very mobile compact frame.” The RA 225 is a lightweight SMG, which means it should provide excellent mobility for those looking to finesse opponents in Warzone Season 5.
Although it does come with quick handling, its fast fire rate means that while it will be devastating in close-range gunfights, you will have to manage some upward recoil kick that the RA 225 displays.
Its base form doesn’t boast the highest firepower possible, but with the right attachments, you should be able to increase its damage and recoil control to your liking.

How to unlock Valois Revolver in Warzone and Vanguard Season 5
Here’s how to unlock the new Valois Revolver in Warzone and Vanguard Season 5, which acts as both a knife and pistol.
Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 5 brings a brand-new revolver that doubles up as a knife, so here’s how to unlock the Valois Revolver.
Season 5 arrives on August 24, wrapping up the Vanguard and Warzone storyline ahead of Modern Warfare 2’s launch. Classic villains have returned, setting off Caldera’s volcano which teases a fiery end for the Pacific Warzone map.
Alongside the classic weapons from both the original Modern Warfare 2 and Advanced Warfare, players can unlock the new Valois Revolver. This “combination knife and revolver that acts as both a lethal melee weapon and a pistol,” will be a powerful choice alongside Warzone’s new Rage Serum Field Upgrade, so here’s how to unlock it.
How to unlock the Valois Revolver in Warzone & Vanguard
Warzone and Vanguard’s Valois Revolver arrives shortly after Season 5’s launch and can be unlocked through either a challenge or by purchasing the Store Bundle.
Here’s how to unlock the Valois Revolver in both multiplayer and Zombies:
- In Multiplayer, get 15 Melee Kills
- In Zombies, get 1,000 Eliminations using Pistols that have been Pack-a-Punched
Sledgehammer recommends that players take a Melee weapon into Season 5’s new Beheaded map, as it’s “a great map for closing the gap to your opponent.”
Similarly, they suggest jumping into the new The Archon Zombies map, as you can “hit that Pack-a-Punch early.”
The devs describe the Valois as “a villain’s dream,” as it’s capable of Meleeing opponents in only one hit “while also holding six rounds in the chamber for extra versatility.” They admit the “damage isn’t remarkable” though, “but it’ll do the job against a fleeing or damaged opponent.”

Vanguard Season 5 Zombies: The Archon map, Main Quest, gameplay improvements
Here’s everything coming to Vanguard Zombies in Season 5, including The Archon map, Main Quest, boss fight, and gameplay improvements.
Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 5, the last season before Modern Warfare 2, brings the final round-based Zombies map to the game. Here’s everything we know about The Archon map, as well as the new Main Quest and improvements coming to Vanguard Zombies in Season 5.
After the huge success of Black Ops Cold War Zombies, players were less-than-impressed with Vanguard’s Zombies offering due to its lack of classic features and divergence from the round-based format.
Season 5 arrives on August 24, and will be Vanguard’s final season ahead of Modern Warfare 2. This final update brings one more round-based Zombies map to the game with a new Main Quest and boss fight.
Here’s everything we know about the Vanguard Season 5 Zombies update, including the upcoming gameplay improvements.
- The Archon map arrives in Vanguard Season 5 Zombies
- Vanguard Zombies Main Quest easter egg & boss fight
- Is there a new Wonder Weapon in Vanguard Season 5?
- Vanguard Season 5 Zombies gameplay improvements
The Archon map arrives in Vanguard Season 5 Zombies
Vanguard Season 5 Zombies brings The Archon, a round-based reimagining of Season 2’s Terra Maledicta map.
Although the same play space we’ve seen before, Treyarch have upgraded the map with “the full suite of round-based Zombies mechanics, an updated visual style, new Dark Aether intel, and a slew of new secrets to uncover.”
It will have all of the gameplay mechanics you’d expect in a round-based Vanguard map such as “Perk Fountains, Altar of Covenants, Tome of Rituals, and the Pack-a-Punch machine.”
The Rampage Inducer, which appeared in Cold War Zombies and Vanguard’s Shi No Numa, will also return for players who want to crank up the pace.
Vanguard Zombies Main Quest easter egg & boss fight
Treyarch have called The Archon’s boss fight at the end of the Main Quest the “crown jewel” of the Zombies map.
After completing a series of trials and objectives around The Archon, Zombies players will be tasked with fighting Kortifex, the Big Bad of Vanguard’s storyline. Treyarch said that “Rather than devoting valuable development time to additional features or more Covenants,” they prioritized the Kortifex boss fight which is “on a scale rarely seen in Zombies.”
The Main Quest will go live with The Archon’s launch on August 24th at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.
Is there a new Wonder Weapon in Vanguard Season 5?
No, there isn’t a new Zombies Wonder Weapon arriving with Vanguard Season 5’s The Archon.
Instead, Treyarch have added all three previous Wonder Weapons (Ray Gun, Wunderwaffe DG-2, and Decimator Shield) to the map. This is so they could devote more time to creating the “truly memorable boss fight.”
The Decimator Shield has seen some tweaks though, which are detailed in the gameplay improvements section below.
Vanguard Season 5 Zombies gameplay improvements
Although the full Vanguard Season 5 patch notes aren’t out yet, Treyarch released a couple of the Zombies changes coming to the Decimator Shield and Covenants:
- After reducing the Decimator Blast’s cooldown from 90 seconds to 60 seconds, we’re cutting the remaining timer in half, allowing players to deploy the Decimator Blast every 30 seconds.
- Decimator Blast damage has been buffed against Sturmkriegers and Zaballa the Deceiver, making Egypt’s legendary Wonder Weapon even more formidable.
- In response to player feedback, the full selection of all three Covenants will now refresh with each round at the Altar of Covenants, instead of every three rounds.
Stay tuned, as we’ll drop every Zombies gameplay change and bug fix here when the full patch notes drop ahead of the update.
Vanguard Season 5 also brings classic weapons from both MW2 and Advanced Warfare, as well as classic Call of Duty villains.
