Warzone Verdansk officially nuked following Season 3 event

The end of Verdansk is here. Raven Software launched the Destruction of Verdansk playlist in Call of Duty: Warzone on April 21.

As part of this new playlist, the current Verdansk as we know it met it’s end with an event causing a nuke to detonate across the Verdansk map and change it forever.

Although it was met by various bugs and server issues where players were being kicked out of the game every time a juggernaut was spawned, Verdansk was eventually destroyed.

The Destruction of Verdansk Part I playlist featured a massive circle, closing in within 12 minutes for fans to experience Verdansk and what became of it for a final time.

The event then declared that the Zombies outbreak could not be stopped, resulting in a countdown before a nuclear detonation took place.

Verdansk as we know it will never be the same.

The destruction of Verdansk comes just as Season 3 was announced for both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War this week.

Bonus Calling Card

Just like when players complete Zombies easter eggs and storyline events, The Destruction of Verdansk event concluded with a free bonus Calling Card for completing the playlist in game.

Although it’s not much, players will appreciate the sentiment as a memory of the epic event, which saw the map so many players have enjoyed for the last two years get destroyed.

Players can get this new Calling Card only within this playlist and it will be useable in your inventory as soon as you finish the game.

What’s next?

It seems Rebirth Island have attempted to contact any survivors on Verdansk since the destruction, asking if anyone knows “what the hell just happened?”

It’s unclear what will happen in the future, but leaks and rumours for Season 3 suggest a potential new map or even reimagined version of Verdansk in the 1980s.

One thing we do know, however, is that we will be getting a story-based event for Season 3 Warzone and Black Ops Cold War called “Hunt for Adler,” for those interested you can find out more by reading our article.

The Destruction of Verdansk Part I playlist ends at 5 PM ET on April 21, so make sure to play the event as soon as possible.
