Weapons receive massive update and focus in Black Ops 4

Treyarch is focused on bringing a massive update to their approach to weapons in Call of Duty in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Treyarch says Black Ops 4 features more improvements to guns and their mechanics than all Black Ops games combined. There’s new improvements to how weapons feel and react; a focus on thinking of weapons almost like a character in the game itself.

One of the big changes with weapons is that attachments are now unique to each weapon – not the weapon class. Previously, each weapon class had a set of attachments shared across all the weapons in the class. In Black Ops 4, each weapon has its own set of attachment to suit the weapon – so not all weapons in a certain class will have the same attachment options available.

Weapons now have 3D tracers, which allows you to see where the bullets come from. While playing the game, you will see the bullet trace as it comes to you, so you get a better idea of where you were getting shot from. There is new animations and controller rumbles in the game to better fit every weapon.

For the first time in Call of Duty’s history, Treyarch is introducing true predicted recoil pattern – a new recoil system in the game. Each gun has its own gameplay and personality. Treyarch says there is a new uniqueness as to how a gun tugs back to the center as you keep firing it in game.
