What is Extended Shipment in Modern Warfare 2? Fan-voted playlist explained
Modern Warfare 2 players have been voting for a new playlist called Extended Shipment, so here’s a look at what this mode is and how it’s different from regular Shipment matches.
Modern Warfare 2 launched with a large selection of multiplayer modes for fans to test their mettle against other players. The number has only grown since then thanks to the introduction of Hardcore and classic party modes like Gun Game and One in the Chamber.
Infinity Ward also bring weekly updates where certain modes are rotated out, and players are even able to vote for a new playlist once a month. The April playlist vote included an option for Extended Shipment, and it quickly secured the majority.
Here’s everything you need to know about Extended Shipment in Modern Warfare 2.
Modern Warfare 2 Extended Shipment explained
Extended Shipment is essentially the same as Shipment 24/7, only the score limit has been doubled in each match. For example, Domination will require 400 points instead of 200, while Team Deathmatch will last until a squad has earned 300 eliminations, up from 150.
As usual, every match will take place on the iconic Shipment map but will take twice as long to complete than normal, giving players more time to rack up kills and grind toward camos.
Players can expect the same game modes that appear in Shipment 24/7 to be included in Extended Shipment: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and Grind.
A similar mode was introduced back in Modern Warfare 2019, and it became a popular playlist for those looking to level up their weapons in high-kill games.
Modern Warfare 2 players can expect Extended Shipment to make its debut in the weekly playlist update on Thursday, April 6, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM / 6 PM BST, and remain in the game for at least the next seven days.
Although the mode will likely be removed in the following update, don’t be surprised to see it return in another fan vote later down the line, providing the feedback is positive and enough players try it out.
