Wondering what Ordnance are in Apex Legends? Or how many different types there is? Let’s get into the details of each one and how to use them.

apex legends ordnance

There are a few different types of Ordnance in Apex Legends, but if you’re new to the game or don’t know what they are, we thought it would be good to explain and show the best ways to use them.

Becoming a great Apex Legends player doesn’t just consist of mastering the mechanics and using the best Legends or weapons. Sometimes players are required to make the most out of all the items the game has to offer.

For example, if you have been watching the ALGS Championship recently, you will have noticed how important item management is, especially when it comes to keeping space Ordnaces, which are essential for understanding the game and getting better.

All Apex Legends Ordnance

Apex Legends Ordnance are items that players can throw at enemies and deal damage to them. Ordnance is found in floor loot, Supply Bins, and Loot Ticks. There are 3 different Ordnance for players to use in-game:

  • Frag Grenande
  • Arc Star
  • Thermite Grenade

Frag Grenande

Frag Grenades work just as they do in any other game. However, you can not cook them, so they explode shortly after throwing like in Call of Duty.

This Apex Legends Ordnance has a 4-second delay timer before detonation that is active as soon as it is thrown. Frag Grenades will do anything from 1-100 damage depending on how close the enemies are to the blast. They will also do 10 blunt damage if thrown directly onto an enemy.

If timed and thrown accurately, players can throw this Apex Legends Ordnance or high in the air, and they will land and explode on targets after the 4 seconds are up. Grenades are great for getting enemies off the high ground and even out of camping spots.

Arc Star

Arc Stars are like little ninja stars that stick upon impact. Arc Stars will stack to any surface, even enemies, and will explode 3 seconds after impact.

If enemies are stuck with an Arc Star, although they will not be slowed, they will have an electric animation on screen and take 70 damage to health, as well as 15 pierce damage when the Ordnance connects. Arc Stars will break any rarity shield if the opponent is in the immediate blast, making them one of, if not the best Ordnance in the game.

Arc Stars are best to use when players are camping on doors, as they will completely blast the door off. They are also great to use when enemies are peeking cover as if you manage to stick someone. You can push them directly after.

Thermite Grenade

Thermite Grenades are lethal Ordnances that will leave a trail of burning fire on the floor upon impact. Thermite Grenades leave a 3-meter wall of fire on the floor that will do 25 damage over a period of 3 seconds that stacks, downing an enemy without a body shield in around 5 seconds.

Even when an enemy has a body shield, this Apex Legends Ordnance is lethal and can do serious damage to enemies the longer they stay in the fire. Further, the Thermite Grenade will burn enemies for 3 more seconds, even once they are out of the fire.

This Ordnance is the best at getting enemies out of camping spots, as it forces opponents to move out of its vicinity, or they will take serious damage and die if they stay in the wall of fire for too long. One of the best ways to use them is by throwing them at a door that an enemy is blocking.

If you found this useful and will be looking to use grenades more in the future, try out Season 8 Legend Fuse, who can carry more of these items and throw them further than other characters.

Apex Legends Season 12 will be arriving soon, and finally players have been given official information regarding the new content.

Apex Legends Season 12 will be bringing loads of new content to the battle royale. For those interested in the release date, new Legend, and more, we’ve got you covered.

Apex Legends is coming to the end of another season, and while players enjoyed a heap of new content in Season 11, including a brand new map, it’s time for even more.

A lot of leaks have been surrounding Season 12, but finally, official information has been released regarding the new content coming, including Mad Maggie, changes to Olympus, a new LTM, and even more.

Apex Legends Season 12 release date

Apex Legends Season 11 will end on February 8, 2022, and as updates tend to arrive on Tuesdays around 12 AM PST/ 1 PM EST/ 6 PM BST, this is when we could be seeing Season 12 launch.

The launch trailer for Season 12 will be released on January 27, so perhaps this is when we will get an official release date. When there is official news regarding a release date, we will be updating this piece with the information.

Season 12 Legend Mad Maggie

The new Legend for Season 12 will be Mad Maggie, an old friend of Fuse’s who has been forced to participate in the Apex Games as a punishment for her many crimes across the Outlands.

They fell out over Fuse’s choice to join the Apex Games and for Salvo (Fuse and Maggie’s home planet) to become a world owned by the Syndicate, who are also behind the Apex Games.

It seems Maggie is out for vengeance and her relationship with Fuse is bound to be explosive, making things exciting for fans in terms of lore.

It’s unclear what her abilities are, but from a recently leaked promotional image, it seems she will wield a shield and some sort of whip.

New LTM “Control”

Apex Legends Season 12 will also bring a brand new season to the game called “Control.” While there has been a lot of rumors regarding a smaller team-based mode coming to Apex Legends after Arenas, players will finally be getting it in Season 12.

Control features two teams of 9 where players will choose their loadout – similarly to how it worked in Season 11’s version of the Holo-day Express LTM.

The two teams will then battle it to hold control points with infinite respawns. It isn’t quite clear what maps will be available on this mode, but again, as more information is released we will be sure to update this piece.

Olympus returns with an update

Map updates have been teased ahead of Season 12 but now we have official news that Olympus will be returning with changes.

The information given in the latest EA blog on Season 12 states the following: “A new view from Olympus. Something is different about the floating city…but what?”

This will no doubt generate excitement for what map changes are to come for Olympus in Season 12, especially as the map has been out for the duration of Season 11.

That’s all for Apex Legends Season 12, as more information is released make sure to check back on this article for updates. For now, check out how many people are playing Apex Legends.

Apex Legends devs respond to Season 12 Pathfinder buffs requests

The Apex Legends developers have finally responded to player requests to buff Pathfinder’s abilities in Season 12.

Published

Apex Legends players have been calling for some major buffs to Pathfinder in Season 12, and Respawn Entertainment have finally responded to these requests.

There are a total of 19 different characters to choose from in Apex Legends. All of these Legends have unique abilities that make them ideal choices for a variety of different combat situations.

Pathfinder has consistently been one of the top five picks in the game. Despite his popularity, players have been requesting that Respawn Entertainment provide him with a major buff in Season 12.

Now, one of the Apex Legends devs has responded to these requests.

Respawn will not change Pathfinder in Season 12

Apex Legends’ Lead Balance Director John Larson discussed Pathfinder in an interview with Dexerto’s Kijanna Henry. The dev went over why there hasn’t been any major update for the Legend.

After explaining how complicated it is to buff or nerf characters, he stated that Respawn believes Pathfinder currently doesn’t need any improvements. This can be attributed to the Legend’s high pick rate.

One popular player suggestion has been to increase Pathfinder’s utility while he uses a zipline, and Larson dismissed that idea: “Does he have less of an accuracy penalty on ziplines, or can he heal on ziplines? That would just straight up buff him.”

Larson also explained why Pathfinder’s abilities don’t need to match the strength of other characters: “It’s important to evaluate the kit as a whole. I don’t think there should be a world where every legend has an equally enticing passive, tactical, and ultimate.”

Timestamp at 10:59

It seems that Respawn are currently satisfied with Pathfinder’s performance, so we won’t see the Legend go through any major changes anytime soon. However, that doesn’t mean he’ll stay the same forever.

Larson noted that the team is always open to making changes when needed. So, we might see Pathfinder get some upgrades when the game’s meta shifts in a future season. Only time will tell when this will happen exactly.

Who is the most popular Apex Legends character? Season 11 pick rates

Apex Legends Season 11 is well underway, but who has dominated the pick rates for Season 11 of Respawn’s battle royale so far?

Published

on

Season 11 of Apex Legends has tons of characters to choose from to enjoy its several maps. But who has the top Season 11 pick rates in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter?

Apex Legends hit the ground running when it launched with eight different characters to choose from in its battle royale offering. The game suffered a notable lull when Call of Duty: Warzone launched, but with many players jumping ship to Respawn’s game in Season 10, Apex Legends Season 11 has benefited from continued support from gamers and streamers alike.

There are now a whopping 19 different Legends to choose from, giving players a headache before each game. The newest one is Ash, she debuted alongside the new Storm Point map.

Between the Arenas mode and Ranked Leagues to compete in, thousands of matches have already been logged in Season 11, and we will break down and find the Legends with the highest pick rates in Season 11.

Apex Legends Season 11 pick rate ranked list

This is our complete list of every character pick in Apex Legends, and we’ve ranked them in order to let you know which are favored.

Most picked Legends in Apex Legends Season 11

5. Valkyrie – 7.4%

With Ash being knocked out of the top 5 most picked Legends since her release at the start of Season 11, Valkyrie has officially taken her spot with a 7.4% pick rate.

Valkyrie is great in Season 11, with unbelievable mobility thanks to her passive Jet Pack. This allows her to reposition and get in and out of situations with ease, arguably having the best potential to survive out of all Legends due to great mobility.

Valkyrie’s Ultimate is great for maps like Storm Point, as there are no Jump Towers and so her Skyward Dive offers useful rotations. Her Ultimate is great for getting the team into a spot for final circles, as you’ll be able to fly above and past enemy teams rotating into the zone.

4. Pathfinder – 8.8%

Pathfinder has consistently been one of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 8.8%, and counting, for quite some time now.

As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.

3. Bloodhound – 10.3%

Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 11.

Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark as a season goes on, and they currently stand at 10.3%. They are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends, thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.

2. Octane – 12.3%

With a 12.3% pick rate, the speed demon takes the number two spot, continuing his reign as one of the most popular Legends in Season 11, fluctuating between the top two places.

Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.

But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.

1. Wraith – 12.5% – Most picked Legend in Apex Legends Season 11

Another starting Legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she has taken the number one spot with a whopping 12.5% pick rate in Season 11.

Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan-favorite in Apex Legends Season 11.

That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 11. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, altering the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.

We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks and don’t forget to check out the best Apex Legends weapon skins to use.
