Apex Legends is all about dominating and taking advantage of enemy teams when you get the upper hand. One of the best ways to know when you can do so is to know the amount of health the opposition may have.
With more and more players getting to grips with Apex Legends every day, some of the very basics may not be known to these new players.
Apex Legends is now in Season 10, with the game getting bigger and better with every new season. Over the two years since the game was released, we’ve seen many changes to the game, including changes to shield.
Having said that, we thought it would be a great idea to let players know exactly how much health players can have in Apex Legends, including shields.
Amount of health in Apex Legends
In Apex Legends, players have a base health of 100, and since the devs decided to implement starting loot, players now drop into the map with a white shield on top of that. Each section of the shield adds 25 health to your Legend, which is how much a shield cell will heal you.
So, at the start of every battle royale game, all players will drop into the map with 150 health, with the extra 50 being that of the shield.
You’ll know once you’ve broken the shield and you start to hit an enemy’s base health as you’ll hear a cracking sound and also start seeing the damage numbers in red, which players call hitting “flesh.”
Amount of shield in Apex Legends
The shield is essential in Apex Legends, especially now that all shields are Evo Shield, which means you can upgrade your current shield all the way to a red shield by doing damage.
Each shield rarity, except for gold and red, will have a certain amount of damage needed for it to upgrade, which is indicated just above your health.

You’ll know what shield enemies have as the damage numbers will correlate with the rarity of their shield.
Here is how much each shield will add on top of your 100 base health:
- White: 50 shield
- Blue: 75 shield
- Purple: 100 shield
- Red: 125 shield
- Gold: 100 shield (Shield Cells heal 50 each instead of 25)
So, the maximum amount of health a player can have in Apex Legends is 225, so be wary when you shoot someone and notice dark red damage numbers, as they could potentially have this large amount of health.
So, there you have it, the base amount of health all players have and the amount of shields for each rarity. For more tips and guides on Apex Legends, check out our article on what KP is and the maximum amount you can gain.

Every confirmed change coming in Apex Legends Season 12
With Apex Legends Season 12 being released soon, players may be wondering what kind of changes the update will bring to the game.
Apex Legends Season 12 is set to launch very soon and we have all of the details on every known change the update will bring to the game.
With every new season of Apex Legends, players expect a heap of changes to come and bring some excitement to the game.
Apex Legends Season 12 was recently announced, and as it is launching soon we thought it would be a great idea to detail all the changes coming in the new update that we know about.
Apex Legends Season 12 Legend Mad Maggie
Like any new season, Apex Legends Season 12 is bringing a brand new Legend to the roster. Mad Maggie will be an Offensive classed Legend with a kit that is built for being fiery and aggressive.
Her relationship with Fuse is bound to be explosive, adding further lore and yet another connection between the Legends. We’ll have to see how strong her kit will be once the season launches on February 8, as Maggie could shake up the meta.
For now, check out our piece on all her abilities.
Season 12 will also be bringing some changes to the beloved Olympus map. Since arriving in Season 7, Olympus hasn’t seen many significant changes. The launch trailer was revealed on January 27, finally giving fans a sneak peek at the crazy update the map will be getting.
It seems an explosion has caused Olympus to teleport and stabilize just above the city that it was previously floating above. Players will now be able to see the city below, as well as a brand new skybox that seems to be more grounded and within the planet’s atmosphere rather than in the sky.
Further, the launch trailer also revealed a new POI as well, and that the explosion has caused objects and buildings to be misplaced all over the map. You may even see some structures and objects from other maps placed on Olympus after this huge phase explosion shown in the trailer.
Legend buffs & nerfs
We will have a much better understanding of Legend buffs and nerfs when the patch notes are released and we will update this article when the information drops.
Having said that, we know that there are plans to bring changes for Crypto and Pathfinder. Crypto has been needing a rework for some time and Pathfinder is still lacking a personalized Passive ability, so perhaps these are changes that we will see in the Season 12 patch.
Apex Legends Anniversary
Apex Legends Season 12 will also celebrate the game’s third anniversary, with login rewards for players and a possible event filled with new skins.
Not much is known about the anniversary celebration apart from the login rewards, but be sure to stay updated with our guide on the event.
New LTM “Control”
Players will finally be getting a brand new LTM in Season 12 called “Control.” This LTM will see teams of nine players battle it out to take control of three objective points. Although there hasn’t been any indication of setting, we could be seeing a variety of POIs used as maps for this mode.

Who is Apex Legends Season 12’s Mad Maggie? Abilities & lore
Apex Legends Season 12 will bring Mad Maggie as a playable Legend, but who is she and what are her abilities?
A lot of Apex Legends players are asking questions about Mad Maggie, especially as she has now been revealed as the Season 12 Legend.
Apex Legends has a lot of lore and character development that even spans from the Titanfall series. Despite not becoming a playable Legend until Season 12, Mad Maggie has been involved in the game’s lore ever since Fuse was introduced.
With the latest Stories from the Outlands video providing players with information regarding why she will be involved in the Apex Games, what will her abilities be and what’s her backstory?
Who is Apex Legends’ Mad Maggie?
Mad Maggie was introduced to players as Fuse’s close friend on Salvo, the home planet of both characters. They grew up together and developed a close bond while fighting for Salvo’s freedom. Fuse broke that friendship when he left Salvo and joined the Apex Games.
Maggie felt betrayed because the Apex Games are run by the same organization that took Salvo, the Syndicate. Fuse’s departure caused a fight between the two that ultimately ended in Fuse losing his arm.
We saw Maggie ambush and ruin Fuse’s debut appearance at the Apex Games by destroying the Kings Canyon map for Season 8’s launch. Maggie was also responsible for the War Games event in the same season, where she took over the games, changing the rules with LTMs and becoming the announcer.
Since then, she has been causing havoc to the Syndicate, who eventually captured and forced her to participate in the games to pay for her crimes.
Apex Legends Mad Maggie abilities
As the new season has only just been announced, we are yet to receive official information regarding Mad Maggie’s kit and abilities. Having said that, the new launch trailer on the Apex Legends YouTube has given fans a much better understanding of her kit, so let’s get into it.
Firstly, Maggie is seen glowing red when around danger in the launch trailer. This could be the Legends Passive ability, which will act similarly to Bangalore’s Passive, Double Time.
When danger is close, it is suspected that Maggie will take reduced damage for a short period of time.
Next, we have Maggie’s Tactical ability, which is some sort of breaching charge that sticks to walls and expells fire through to the other side. This will be great at getting players through doors and buildings.
Lastly, Mad Maggie’s Ultimate was seen being thrown at Fuse in the trailer. It is a large, spikey ball that will knock back Legends and maybe even destroy doors and traps. It will definitely damage those who are in its path and possibly stun them in some way.
Players will likely know more about Mad Maggie’s kit closer to launch. We will make sure to update this piece as the information goes live so stay tuned.

The launch of the new season will not only mean a new Legend, map updates, and buffs and nerfs, but it also means a ranked reset will also occur, so make sure you get your games in while you still can for Season 11.
Apex Legends Season 12 Legend Mad Maggie
The new Legend for Season 12 will be Mad Maggie, an old friend of Fuse’s who has been forced to participate in the Apex Games as a punishment for her many crimes across the Outlands after being shot down in a dog fight against the Syndicate.
They fell out over Fuse’s choice to join the Apex Games and for Salvo (Fuse and Maggie’s home planet) to become a world owned by the Syndicate, who are also behind the Apex Games.
It seems Maggie is out for vengeance and her relationship with Fuse is bound to be explosive, making things exciting for fans in terms of lore.
If you’re interested in Maggie’s abilities and kit, check out our piece on who Mad Maggie is.
Apex Legends new LTM “Control”
Apex Legends Season 12 will also bring a brand new LTM to the game called “Control.” While there has been a lot of rumors regarding a smaller team-based mode coming to Apex Legends after Arenas, players will finally be getting it in Season 12.
Control will be available for the first three weeks of Season 12 and features two teams of 9 where players will choose their loadout – similarly to how it worked in Season 11’s version of the Holo-day Express LTM.
The two teams will then battle to hold control points with infinite respawns. It isn’t quite clear what maps will be available for this mode, but again, as more information is released we will be sure to update this piece.
Apex Legends’ Olympus returns with an update
Map updates have been teased ahead of Season 12 but now we have official news that Olympus will be returning with changes. The information given in the EA blog on Season 12 states the following: “A new view from Olympus. Something is different about the floating city…but what?”
As players saw from the launch trailer that was released on January 27, Olympus has been teleported and altered due to a phase explosion. The event caused Olympus to fall right down towards the city that it floats above, as well as building parts and other objects being teleported back onto the map, likely changing its landscape and integrity.
Players also found an Instagram ad that gave a sneak peek of the skybox and a new structure we can expect to see.
This will no doubt generate excitement for what map changes are to impact Olympus in Season 12, especially as the map has been out for the duration of Season 11.
That’s all for Apex Legends Season 12, as more information is released make sure to check back on this article for updates. For now, check out how many people are playing Apex Legends.
