What is the average K/D ratio for Apex Legends? How to check your stats
Respawn EntertainmentWondering how to check your K/D in Apex Legends? Here’s everything you need to know about checking your kills and deaths in the free-to-play shooter, as well as what the average KD looks like.
Apex Legends pits up to 60 players against each other in a fight for survival, featuring various legends, weapons, and abilities that can make each match unique and exciting. However, some players may wonder how they compare to others in terms of skill and performance.
One way to measure this is by looking at the kill/death ratio, or KD ratio, which is the number of kills divided by the number of deaths. This ratio has always been a big part of measuring skill in multiplayer FPS games.
However, due to the more recent obsession with battle royales, SBMM, and the increasing popularity of ranked modes, KDs have become more inconspicuous and really depend on what type of lobbies you’re playing in.
So here’s everything you need to know about how to check your KD ratio in Apex Legends, as well as what the average looks like.

What is the average KD in Apex Legends?
The general consensus is that any KD around the 1.0 mark is considered an average KD on Apex Legends. This means that for every death you have, you will have at least secured one kill.
If your KD is lower than 1.0 and looks more like 0.80 or lower, this would be considered below average as you are dying more than you are killing. To increase your KD back up more toward the average, you will need to start killing more people before you are eliminated.
How to check your KD in Apex Legends
You can check your lifetime battle royale KD by checking your player stats. Here’s how to do it:
- Boot up Apex Legends.
- At the main menu lobby screen, click on your username above the Legend.
- This will take you to a page full of your player stats, including your lifetime K/D.
- In the middle will be your lifetime stats, and on the right will be your current season stats.
Players can also sort stats via each season or even ranked by pressing the title above the stats on the right side, giving you the option to select any season you would like to see your stats in.
Alternatively, you can also use websites like Apex Legends Tracker to see your KD and any other stat you might be interested in finding out, including your recent performances.
What is a good KD in Apex Legends?
If your KD happens to be above 1.0 and looks more like 1.5 or higher, this would be considered an above-average or good KD in Apex Legends, as you will be killing more than one person before dying more often than not.
Any Apex Legends KD above 2.0 can be considered a very good kill-to-death ratio, as it’s much higher than the average and you are likely an experienced player.
