fortnite season 6 start date

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is now nearing its end, but how long does it have left, and when will Season 6 officially launch?

Fortnite divides its content up into Seasons, with Chapters dividing them up further. Once Fortnite reached the end of Season 10 in October 2019, the game moved onto Chapter 2. We’re now nearing the end of Chapter 2, Season 5, so players have set their sights on what Season 6 will have in store.

Fortnite Season 4 ended on December 2 following a massive battle between Fortnite players, Marvel heroes, and Galactus. The game was down for a few hours and then Season 5, titled ‘Zero Point,’ kicked off in style.

A plethora of pop-culture characters have come to the game in Season 5, such as Star Wars’ The Mandalorian, God of War’s Kratos, Xenomorphs, and the Predator. But it’s time to start looking ahead and wonder what we can expect.

When does Fortnite Season 6 begin?

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 will officially end on March 16, 2021 with Season 6 likely to follow directly after it.

Official Fortnite channels have confirmed that the Battle Pass will end on March 16, so it’s safe to assume that Season 6 will begin during the week beginning March 15.

Popular and reliable leaker HYPEX has also revealed that Season 6 won’t be delayed, as the update has been added to the staging servers on March 5.

What will be in Fortnite Season 6?

Fortnite data miners already have an idea of what Season 5’s Zero Crisis Finale Event will look like. In the 15.50 update files, Mang0e discovered NPCs will be “teleported to wacky places by the Zero Point,” and Fort Tory discovered that audio will be distorted as we reach the event.

Continuing the lore of Fortnite, it seems that Agent Jones has finally reached his breaking point and could be about go rogue in Fortnite. The most recent teaser shows clear signs of dissension between himself and the Imagined Order.

It’s likely Season 6 will feature significant map changes. We last saw Colossal Coliseum, Stealthy Stronghold, and the return of fan-favorite location Tilted Towers.

The theme for next season’s content is anyone’s guess, but data miners have become adept at deciphering Epic Games’ plans so we’re likely to have a strong idea before it officially launches.

There is also a plethora of other leaked content including:

Another recent finding indicates that other aspects of Fortnite could be set to merge with the battle royale game. One of the recent teasers has hinted that Save The World content is on its way in the form of a new shotgun and axe.

Neymar coming to Fortnite Season 6?

One of the biggest unofficial surprises for Season 6 of Fortnite appears to be world-famous soccer superstar Neymar.

The Brazilian sports icon is known for his love of Fortnite and responded to an official Tweet from the main Fortnite Twitter handle.

With a bit more digging, evidence has actually been found to support the idea that Neymar is set to feature in Season 6 in some way. In the teaser trailer from Epic Games, some images are included that match up to aspects of Neymar’s career.

Hypex managed to find images relating to Neymar that correspond to suspiciously similar stills inside the video. As we have said, there’s no word on what the mega tie-in could have in-store for players, but maybe it will be the start of an even bigger crossover for the game using real-life athletes.

Deathstroke in Fortnite

Data miners have discovered that Deathstroke will be the next DC Comics character that Epic Games will add to Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 6 in the upcoming Batman crossover.

Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5 introduced some major crossovers to the battle royale, including franchises like Predator, and The Walking Dead. Now, Season 6 has already brought Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft and Rebirth Raven in the Battle Pass.

Epic Games are set on bringing another major DC Comics character to The Island, in the form of the supervillain Deathstroke. He will be part of the highly-anticipated Batman crossover, and here’s what we know so far.

Deathstroke from Justice League

Deathstroke skin confirmed for Fortnite Season 6

This information came from notable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR. Epic Games confirmed that we’d be getting a brand new crossover in the form of a series of six comic books titled Batman x Fortnite: Zero Point.

Each of these issues will come with a redeemable code that grants you access to an exclusive DC-themed skin or cosmetic, and the data miner shared the cover of the fourth issue. It features the villain alongside Catwoman and Batman.

ShiinaBR then wrote that Deathstroke is “100% becoming a skin in Season 6,” so we can expect to see him arrive soon.

The data miner also previously leaked a new Rebirth Harley Quinn skin variant for the game, along with a Batman Point Armored skin which is reportedly set to ship in April.

Deathstroke Glider coming soon

On April 16, 2021, some new leaks emerged which confirmed Deathstroke will also be getting a glider in the game. These came from Fortnite data miners iFireMonkey and FNAssist, who stated that the glider will be a reward for purchasing Issue #4 of the crossover comic.

At the time of writing, it’s not clear how the skin be given to players. It might be a reward for buying issue, as with the Harley Quinn skin. However, at this point it’s just pure speculation, and Deathstroke might become available through other means.

That’s not all, as Epic Games will also be bringing some additional DC content aside from the new skins. There is mass speculation that the Batcave will be added to the Fortnite Season 6 map as a brand-new POI.

We’ll keep checking for any more announcements and updates regarding the Batman crossover in Fortnite Season 6. Once we hear something noteworthy, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Fortnite glitch is flipping players’ screens

Reddit user powerGladius posted a clip showcasing their encounter with this glitch in the middle of a match. They were just enjoying the game, and then the screen spontaneously flipped and locked sideways.

While this may seem amusing initially, it soon became clear that it would keep happening even when they tried to join other games. It’s far less fun to play Fortnite when you need to constantly keep your neck on your shoulders.

The comments were filled to the brim with other players that had also encountered this issue, and they were demanding that Epic Games issue a fix for this issue.

Even pro players like Thiago ‘K1nG’ Lapp of FaZe Clan Brazil and ‘Snow’ from Falcons Gaming have vented about their experience with this glitch. This means that this issue is widespread, and can happen to any player.

There is no doubt that Epic Games will end up investigating this issue, and then coming up with a permanent fix for it. However, they’ve not acknowledged it at the time of writing, so they might not know about it yet.

We’ll keep checking for any updates regarding this situation. Once the devs announce a proper fix for the bug, we’ll be sure to update you.

Fortnite player discovers genius tricks for off-road tires

A clever Fortnite YouTuber has discovered some genius tricks you can pull off with Season 6’s new tires, and they don’t involve vehicles.

Fortnite off-road tire tricks

A clever Fortnite player has found some genius ways to use Fortnite’s new tires, and not in ways you might expect.

A major part of Fortnite is discovering clever ways you can use your builds, the environment, items, and weapons to get the upper hand on your opponent. Chonkers off-road tires arrived with the 16.20 update, and while they are designed for modding vehicles, the community has already discovered their other uses.

Fortnite YouTuber Ryuzanami has demonstrated several tricks you can pull off with the tires, and, surprisingly, none of them involve vehicles.

fortnite season 6 vehicle mods

As Fortnite players have become more advanced at the building mechanics of the game, taking and getting through other players’ walls has become one of the most important aspects of the game. Ryuzanami showed that you can use the tires to phase through walls 100% of the time. If you throw the tire into the corner, push up against the wall, and break it, you are guaranteed to get through.

With the storm ever closing in, you can also use these tires to boost your movement speed. As you jump off the tire, you can continue to pick them up, repeating the process until you’re safe from the storm. Or, mid-fight, you can throw the tires on the ground below you and use them to take height from your opponents.

Once you have this height, you can also use the tires to avoid fall damage. Throw the tires on the floor below you then build a floor above, jump on top of the tires, then they will remain below your feet and break your fall. Just don’t pick up the tires on the way down or you’ll fall to your death.

Also, using their bouncy nature, you can throw them at opponents forcing them to take fall damage. However, this is extremely situational and is more fun than a competitive strategy.

With these tips in mind, keeping one of your inventory slots free for tires can provide you with a plethora of opportunities to get the upper hand in build fights.
