Players looking for an updated version of Call of Duty: Warzone on their PS5 or Xbox Series X|S are in luck.

While next-gen consoles released at the end of 2020, players who wanted to land in Verdansk and outlast their opponents had to do so on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the battle royale title.

That won’t be the case forever though, as Raven Software have confirmed that their team is hard at work on a next-gen update patch for Call of Duty: Warzone.

This patch will bring features to support the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, including support for the consoles’ SSD to allow for faster load times, along with 120HZ support.

Amos Hodge, studio’s Creative Director, informed us that Raven has a “dedicated technology team” within their studio working specifically on updating Call of Duty: Warzone’s engine and technology for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Unfortunately, there is no timeline for the release of this update. Some believed that the next-gen improvements would drop with the launch of Season 5, but Raven have confirmed that this is not the case.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War supports both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game includes 120HZ support, ray-tracing, and SSD enhancements. It also supports the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller with its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

The studio also stated that are “investigating” the potential of a FOV slider for Warzone on consoles.
