Where to buy Fortnite’s Exotic Boom Sniper Rifle in Season 5

The Boom Exotic Sniper Rifle is a rare but mighty weapon. You can get it for yourself by following a few steps.

Exotic Weapons are the newest additions to Fortnite Season 5, and The Boom Exotic Sniper Rifle is a powerful tool to have in combat. Here’s how you can get your hands on this rare gun.

Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5 has a plethora of amazing new content, including cosmetics, skins, and quests. It has also introduced a new weapon type known as ‘Exotic’ weapons. These are rare guns that are significantly more unique than Legendary ones.

Five Exotic weapons have been added to Fortnite, and one of them is the Boom Sniper Rifle, which shares its model with the Heavy Sniper Rifle. As with all of the Exotic guns, you’ll have little luck in finding it as random loot within the Battle Royale.

We’ve gone over what to do to unlock the Shadow Tracker pistol, and now here’s how you can get The Boom Exotic Sniper Rifle in Fortnite Season 2, Chapter 5.

Epic Games

How to get the Boom Exotic Sniper Rifle

Since Exotic weapons are rare, your best chance of getting them is by spending Gold on certain NPCs. You can purchase The Boom Sniper Rifle from a character named Splode, who can be found at the Unremarkable Shack POI.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Make your way North until you reach the Craggy Cliffs.
  2. Head over to the small island to the left, just between the cliffs and Stealthy Stronghold.
  3. Approach the Unremarkable Shack landmark on the Western side of the island.
  4. Talk with the NPC Splode and purchase the weapon from him.

You can spot this landmark on the map below.

This weapon doesn’t come cheap, so if you want to purchase it from Splode, you’ll need to have 1,225 Gold at hand. This price is steep, but it’s understandable due to the rarity of The Boom Exotic.

Using this weapon is a lot like firing the Heavy Sniper Rifle, but the biggest difference is that it will fire a clinger with its projectile. Your targets will take 10 contact damage from the clinger, or 25 if you successfully perform a headshot. Then the projectile will explode and deal 60 bonus damage to them.

The Boom Exotic comes with 5 rounds in its magazine, which is 4 more than the Heavy Sniper Rifle. This makes the weapon ideal for dealing splash damage with the clingers to foes around corners. If you find yourself overwhelmed by multiple enemies, then this gun will come in handy.

That covers everything you need to know about getting the Boom Sniper Rifle. It’s expensive now, but it will become more prevalent later in the season as players earn more Gold Bars. Although Mythic weapons are still more powerful, Exotic guns are still worth pursuing.

Fortnite data miners have discovered that Fortnite’s 20.40 update has brought the Doomsday Device to Loot Lake, and it appears to tie in with a live event that we’ll see in Chapter 3 Season 3.

The Doomsday Device is a huge tower at Loot Lake’s shore, surrounded by small buildings that’ll be perfect for looting. Popular leaker HYPEX said: “The Doomsday Device is set to have some periodic pulses that either enable glider redeploy, low gravity or extra speed,” but they explained that these features might not make it into the update.
