Krampus will be hunting you down as part of Warzone Pacific’s Festive Fervor event, so here’s how to hunt him down in Caldera.

Krampus, the monster who scares naughty children in European folklore, has come to Caldera for the Festive Fervor event. Warzone players will be tasked with hunting him down, so here’s how to find him.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone will be celebrating the Holidays with the Festive Fervor event, bringing plenty of jolly updates to both games. But among the Holiday cheer comes Krampus, the European folklore monster that scares naughty children at Christmas time.

He’ll also be hunting down Operators in Warzone Pacific’s Caldera, and you can take him on for some rewards and complete the Festive Fervor challenges.

How to find Krampus in Warzone Pacific Caldera

Krampus in Vanguard Warzone Festive Fervor event

Rather than you trying to find Krampus, Krampus will be the one hunting you. Call of Duty devs revealed that Krampus will track down those who have received coal from Holiday Crates.

If you’re selected as Krampus’ prey, “This mythical creature will take three minutes to complete his hunt before he disappears for his next target, or he’ll be killed and give out a special permanent reward for the squad that faces his wrath.”

So it’s up to you if you want to hide from Krampus or take him on. But if you want to complete the Festive Fervor challenges, you’ll need to deal 365 points of damage to him, which is roughly enough bullets to kill two enemies.

How to collect coal in Warzone: Holiday Crate locations

Warzone Pacific Festive Fir Tree

Festive Fir Trees will spawn around Caldera during the Festive Fervor event, and this is where you can find the Holiday Crates that drop coal to “Operators on the naughty list.”

Luckily, these Fir Trees will be marked on the map so you’ll know exactly where to find them. Players just need to stay inside the Fir Tree’s zone for a short period of time, causing “Supply Boxes to magically appear” which include the Holiday Crates that contain Legendary items, limited-time rewards, and of course, coal.

Collect enough of this coal and you’ll become the Krampus’ target, which is a sure-fire way of finding him in Caldera.

Raven Software haven’t revealed the rewards you’ll receive for defeating Krampus, but confirmed it’s a “special permanent reward” so will likely be a Weapon Blueprint, Charm, or Calling Card.

We’ll be sure to update you once the Krampus rewards have been revealed.

How to turn off crossplay in Vanguard & Warzone Pacific

Here’s what you need to do in order to turn off Call of Duty’s Crossplay functionality in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Published

how to turn of crossplay Vanguard Warzone

While playing Call of Duty with your friends on different platforms can be fun, there is a risk of you encountering hackers and cheaters even after the launch of RICOCHET. You can avoid that by using our guide to turn off crossplay in Vanguard & Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Crossplay in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific is a feature that connects players across all platforms through an “Activision Account.” Players who do not opt-in to this system will be unable to play cross-platform across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

If you do have an Activision Account, you will be automatically entered into the crossplay player pool by default. If you feel like this isn’t for you, and you want the option to disable this, then follow our quick and easy guide.

How to turn off crossplay for Vanguard

Vanguard Crossplay setting
  1. Log into Vanguard Multiplayer
  2. Navigate to ‘Settings’
  3. Go to the ‘Account & Network’ tab
  4. Change Crossplay from ‘On’ to ‘Off’

How To Turn off Warzone Pacific Crossplay

turning off crossplay in cod
  1. Log into Warzone
  2. Go to the ‘Options’ section
  3. Navigate to the ‘Account’ tab
  4. Change Crossplay from ‘Enabled’ to ‘Disabled’

Once crossplay is disabled, you’ll only matchmake against players on your native platform. You can toggle crossplay back on at any time. We especially recommend having it on while queuing for Warzone.

Why turn off crossplay for Vangaurd & Warzone Pacific ?

Simply put, cheaters and hackers. If you’re a console-only player, you might run into a few from the PC platform. While RICOCHET has helped significantly reduce the number of hackers, running into a cheater can still occur with some cheat providers refusing to back down.

We strongly recommend keeping crossplay on to ensure the queue times stay short, we also understand that running into cheaters is not fun.

Unfortunately, if you’re on PC, turning off crossplay will significantly increase your matchmaking times. We do not recommend turning off crossplay unless you are on a console.

Why should I keep crossplay on?

If you’re wondering why you should keep crossplay on – first and foremost, interconnectivity. With crossplay enabled, you can play with Call of Duty friends on other platforms. If this is off, players on other platforms won’t be able to join your sessions and you won’t be able to join them.

Secondly, matchmaking times will be impacted if you turn off crossplay. More so on PC than other platforms, but the matchmaking pool you enter into on console will be against players with no Activision ID and other players who have turned off crossplay.

Lastly, connections. You’ll be entered into a more narrow pool of players, so this could also have a negative impact on your ping. Overall though, you should still be thrown into the best available games.

Best OTs 9 loadout for CoD: Warzone Pacific Season 1

Here are the best attachments, Perks and Equipment to use with the powerful OTs 9 SMG in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Published

on

Warzone Pacific OTs 9 loadout

The OTs 9 SMG is another meta pick in Warzone Pacific’s huge arsenal of weaponry, so here are the best attachments and Perks to make the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout and maximize its potential in Season 1.

Black Ops Cold War’s OTs 9 remains a great choice to consider when it comes to a powerful close-quarters weapon in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

This fast-firing SMG boasts a highly competitive time to kill, so you can use it to dominate your opponents in close-range combat – especially on the confines of Rebirth Island

We have all of the attachments and Perks you should run to make the best Warzone Pacific OTs 9 loadout.

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout attachments

Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout
  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Ammunition: VDV 40 Rnd Fast Mag

The best Warzone OTs 9 loadout is built to dominate at close range but will be better suited for Solos and Duo matches because of its smaller magazine size.

To start the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout, we’ve opted for the GRU Suppressor. This is the standard for most SMG builds because of its massive increase in bullet velocity, range, and recoil control while keeping you off the minimap when firing.

Next, the 8.1″ Task Force barrel further increases this range while boosting strafe speed. Its only downside is that it will make the OTs kick more, but it’s perfect for a close-range build.

As this is a close-range build, speed and mobility are key. Combining the Tiger Team Spotlight and the KGB Skeletal Stock will vastly improve your sprint to fire and aim walk moving speed, making you a tough target.

Finally, to get the largest magazine size possible, you should use the VDV 40 Rnd Fast Mag which also gives a much faster reload.

Best Perks & Equipment to use with OTs 9 class

Warzone E.O.D, overkill, and amped perks
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill then Ghost
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal: Throwing Knife
  • Tactical: Stun Grenades

To start, you want to use E.O.D to survive any explosive damage, which is necessary when using an SMG up-close.

Then, you want to use Overkill to pair the OTs 9 with the Bren or Swiss K31. Afterward, you want to take Ghost from your next loadout to hide from Heartbeat Sensors and UAVs.

Amped is a great choice for Amped for our final Perk, as it allows you to switch weapons much faster and makes sure you do not get caught switching weapons when an enemy begins to fire at you.

For Equipment, we recommend combining the Throwing Knife and Stun Grenades. The Throwing Knife is perfect to quickly finish off downed enemies, and the Stuns will almost render your opponent powerless.

Most recent OTs 9 buffs and nerfs in Warzone

OTs 9 SMG in Warzone

Raven Software realized that the OTs 9 was extremely powerful, so gave it a fairly significant nerf in one of Warzone Pacific’s first updates.

The December 9 update reduced its maximum damage and headshot multiplier, making it more in line with the game’s other SMGs.

Here are all the recent changes to the OTs 9:

  • OTs 9 (BOCW)
    • Maximum Damage decreased to 30, down from 31
    • Headshot Damage Multiplier decreased to 1.33, down from 1.52

How to unlock the OTs 9 in Warzone

OTs 9 SMG in Black Ops Cold War

Unlocking the OTs 9 is relatively simple but time-consuming, requiring you to complete at least 15 different matches.

This is the challenge you will need to complete:

  • Using SMGs, kill 2 or more players rapidly in 15 different completed matches.

We recommend jumping into either Plunder or Rebirth Island, where you’ll have many more opportunities to get two SMG kills in quick succession.

Best alternatives to Warzone’s OTs 9

If you haven’t unlocked the OTs 9 yet or are looking for something with more ammo for squad matches, there are plenty of viable choices besides the best Warzone OTs 9 loadout.

The Bullfrog’s large magazine size makes it a competitive choice in any squad mode, and you can’t go wrong with the new hip-fire PPSh loadout that’s been dominating the game.

Best guns in Warzone Pacific Season 1

10. OTs 9

Best Warzone ots 9 loadout

The OTs 9 has long been a powerful choice in Warzone, and even though it’s a Cold War weapon, it’s still got a place in Warzone Pacific.

Warzone players love a low TTK SMG, and the OTs 9 fits that category perfectly. It has minimal recoil and can kill extremely quickly, which makes it a powerful choice whether you’re pairing it with an Assault Rifle or Sniper Rifle.

You’ll likely still see a ton of OTs 9s in Caldera thanks to its accuracy and power.

9. BAR

Best BAR Warzone Pacific

The BAR isn’t the easiest weapon to use in Warzone Pacific, but there are very few Assault Rifles that can outgun it.

Although its slow fire rate makes tracking moving targets quite tough, each bullet hits like a truck. Once you get used to that slow fire rate, you’ll likely have great success with the BAR, especially when fighting players face-to-face.

It’s not the best at close-range though, so make sure you stick to the outdoors.

8. MP40

MP40 Warzone Pacific loadout

Similar to the STG, the MP40 is incredibly effective because it’s so easy to use and will tear through enemies extremely quickly.

Although it’s the first SMG you unlock, the MP40 has almost no recoil and great mobility. If you’re unsure which SMG to level up and use in Caldera, we can’t recommend the MP40 enough. Plus, there are plenty of great versions of it as ground loot, too.

7. STG44

STG44 Assault Rifle in Warzone

The STG44 is an extremely popular choice because it’s the first Assault Rifle you unlock in Vanguard and is extremely easy to use.

It’s almost the M4A1 of WW2, being a great jack of all trades. It’s neither the most powerful nor the most accurate, but players of all skill levels can take advantage of it. Plus, the Gunsmith system allows the STG to be built for almost any situation, but we recommend using it at medium to long-range.

6. Welgun – Best SMG in Warzone Pacific

Best Warzone Welgun loadout

The Welgun arrived in Warzone Pacific Season 1’s mid-season update and quickly became the go-to SMG for many players.

Boasting a faster TTK than the MP40 and minimal recoil, the Welgun has been labeled “overpowered” by many content creators and is the obvious choice alongside your favorite Assault Rifle or LMG.

The only problem with the Welgun is that a glitch is stopping players from unlocking it in Warzone, but Raven Software are aware of the issue.

5. Cooper Carbine

Best Warzone Pacific cooper carbine loadout

The Cooper Carbine was new to both Warzone and Vanguard with the launch of Season 1, and quickly became one of the best weapons in the game.

It was originally best suited for close-range but even after Raven Software nerfed it, it’s still remained top of the pack. Its fast fire rate and extremely low recoil make it incredibly easy to use at range, even if the TTK isn’t the best on this list.

4. Cold War AK-47 – Best Assault Rifle in Warzone Pacific

Warzone Pacific Cold War AK-47 loadout

It took some time for Cold War’s AK-47 to join Warzone’s meta but once it did, it secured its place.

With extremely fast TTK, Cold War’s AK-47 is the perfect choice for either a long-range or sniper support build. You may have some trouble getting used to the high recoil, but there are few guns capable of taking it down.

No matter your playstyle, the AK-47 is a great choice across both Caldera and Rebirth Island.

3. Swiss K31

Best Warzone Swiss K31 loadout

The Swiss K31 wasn’t a particularly strong Sniper Rifle when it was first released, but some powerful buffs to Cold War snipers have made it a very strong option for those who favor picking off enemies from a distance.

This Sniper Rifle has one of the best ADS times in its class, making it a perfect option for quickscopers who like to get into their opponents’ faces.

We’ve ranked it below the Kar98k simply because it has less aim assist, but if you’re a mouse and keyboard player, the Swiss K31 could be the weapon for you.

2. Bren – Best LMG in Warzone Pacific

Bren LMG in Warzone Pacific

Although quite slow, the Bren has remained an incredibly powerful weapon even after nerfs. You won’t be able to dart around finessing your opponents, but it has almost zero recoil allowing you to beam any opponent that crosses your path.

The Bren has extremely low recoil for an LMG, which makes it a fantastic choice whether you’ve built your own loadout or are using it as ground loot. We expect it to get nerfed again ahead of Season 2.

1. Kar98k – Best Sniper/Marksman Rifle in Warzone Pacific

Warzone Kar98k marksman rifle

If you want a Sniper Rifle that’s both quick and accurate, Modern Warfare’s Kar98k is the strongest choice available. Although being a Marksman Rifle, equipping the Kar with a Sniper Scope will make it the most aggressive sniper build in Warzone.

Being only slightly slower than the Swiss, it’s fast enough that you’ll be able to quickscope enemies up close. Starting a fight with a couple of easy headshots will put your team at a distinct advantage. And with its one-shot headshot and minimal bullet drop, you can effectively snipe at long-range too.

Sniper Rifles still dominate after the Warzone Pacific update, so you’ll want to make sure that someone in your squad is running one – and we fully recommend the Kar98k.

Those are the top 10 weapons you should be using in Warzone Pacific Caldera. Expect this list to keep on changing as weapons are buffed and nerfed.
