Charge SMG arrives in Fortnite
Fortnite players have a brand-new weapon to wield after the Fortnite 21.20 update, as the Charge SMG is finally introduced to the loot pool.
First leaked all the way back in Chapter 2, Season 7, the Charge SMG can be picked up from ground loot, Chests, Supply Drops, Reality Saplings, and sharks.
Activate the weapon’s charge by holding down the trigger. The longer you hold it, the more bullets you’ll release when you fire it. With the arrival of the Charge SMG, Epic have placed the Combat SMG into the Vault, so don’t expect to see it on the island any time soon.
Indiana Jones arrives in Fortnite 21.20 update
Each Fortnite season comes with a bonus skin that Battle Pass owners can unlock a few weeks in, and Season 3’s 21.20 update finally brings Indiana Jones.

The Indiana Jones Battle Pass Quests will go live at 9AM ET on July 6, with players who complete these challenges able to unlock the skin and other cosmetic items from his set.
Fortnite 21.20 map changes
Tumbledown Temple is no more! The landmark has been a popular drop spot for players throughout Season 3 but has been renamed “Shuffled Shrines” following the 21.20 update.
This POI can be found west of The Joneses, and Epic Games say players are in for an “ancient architecture adventure.”
Port-A-Fort returns!
Epic always say that any item removed from the game can always return, and this has been proved true once again with the Port-A-Fort!
Found in Chests or picked up from ground loot, the Port-A-Fort gives players an instant structure — no building necessary! Use it to give yourself some cover, or as a distraction while you sneak up on opponents.
Fortnite No Sweat Summer challenges
Epic Games added the Island Hopper Creative Quests as part of the No Sweat Summer event and suggested that more challenges are still to come.
- Read more: How to complete Fortnite Weekly Quests
At the end of the Island Hopper blog post, Epic teased: “Want more summer vibes? No sweat, more summer is coming. Stay tuned for more.”
The Island Hopper Quests are only live until July 6, so it sounds like there will be even more challenges to complete after they conclude.
Fortnite 21.20 update bug fixes
Thanks to Epic Games’ Trello board of Fortnite Community Issues, we can see the major bug fixes that are set to arrive in the 21.20 update.
- Battle Royale: Sapling Icon can be misplaced on the Map/Minimap
- Players may see their Sapling Icon out in the ocean or otherwise off of the actual map and not anywhere near where they had planted it.
- Creative: Tracker Device
- We’re aware of an issue that is causing the tracker device to not update correctly for teams when multiple teams are able to use it.
