XDefiant is Ubisoft’s upcoming arena shooter that has had a pretty rough development period, as after significant delays, yet another has been announced by the devs.

When XDefiant was first announced and players were able to get their hands on the early tests, it was dubbed the ‘Call of Duty killer.’ That was some time ago, with the first playtest dating back to 2021.

Many have experienced Ubisoft’s new shooter through its many playtests and betas, and while the devs had hoped that the game would be out by now, XDefiant has been subject to hefty delays.

Ubisoft have announced an update on the launch of the shooter in an X post on March 29, 2024, sharing news of yet another delay, after revealing that they were trying for a March 2024 release date.

The devs revealed that they need more time to implement “improvements,” so they will be bringing yet another playtest session to test the servers and get “critical data” in preparation for launch.

In the statement on X, the XDefiant dev team hopes to lock in a launch date after this 12-hour server test. So, all in all, you’ll have to be patient and wait a little longer before XDefiant launches, but the good news is that there will be another playtest for those really eager to experience the shooter again.

The 12-hour Server Test Session for XDefiant will take place on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but there is no official release date for this at the moment. As soon as the devs reveal a date for this playtest, we’ll be sure to cover it so stay tuned.
